My new muzzleloader just arrived ,a RJ Renner Wesson express sporting rifle. It has a 30 half oct barrel in 62cal with Forsyth rifling ,and it is stocked in some nice French walnut with a pewter nosecap.I plan on using it for whitetail this fall.

My gawd but that's a beautiful stock! Taking it out in the bush you say!? Wouldn't a $200 spaghetti Hawken in .50 do the same job on a white tail? With respect it is your gun and everything, but the thought of bashing the stock to hell pushing in the bush just brings a tear to my eye.

In any event, that is a fine rifle you have there sir. May she treat you and your future generations to many a white tail deer.

very nice Ml. I would not hesitate to take it hunting either. A gun that is not good enough to hunt is worthless. I have guns that have been hunting for over 40 years, and the still look great. my 32 slp is 1909 vintage and it shows over a hundred years of wear, and not 1 indication of abuse. It was the meat getter for a family from 1909 when it was new until the late 80's when it was passed along .
Guns are like pretty girls. Have you seen one that was to pretty to take into the bushes.

This is my new Muzzle loader, about one hundred and fifty years older than yours.
The rifle with its new stock is in my one hand, the original wood is in the other.
janice.
