New NEA 10/22 Barrels? Anyone Run One Yet?

He said it is .22LR chamber. What are you not getting here?

Let me spell it out if you are still confused; .22LR is NOT a Bentz chamber.

You are wrong, 22lr could mean a slew of different chamber dimensions, 22lr refers to the cartridge, can you buy bentz 22 ammo, didn't think so...I have a feeling NEA doesn;t know what they got...A match barrel i think not:owned:

.22LR Chamber Dimensions

Type______Length__Mouth Dia._Throat Dia.
Sporting____0.8751"____0.2307"____0.2270"
Bentz______0.6900"____0.2270"____0.2255"
Match _____0.6876"____0.2267"____0.2248"
Win 52-D___0.5800"____0.2278"____0.2248"

These barrels are chambered in .22 using a carbide reamer. There are no markings on the barrel, but it would be "hard" to convert a factory tapered barrel into a 9" bull barrel.

When we release our 14 and 16 target barrels, they will be bentz

Judging by that post, I would have to say that their current offerings are standard or sport chambered ... but that is just best guess.

WTF?

Relax man, I am sure they are stamped by NEA.

Regardless just keep your receipt.

Might I prescribe something for your problem?

Stamped or not, who gives a ####.

I have never had a Ministry Officer check my 10/22 barrels when out in the bush.

Like I said, keep your receipt. Easy proof that it was purchased from a manufacturer.

As has been said already, any barrel will still retain it's stamp after being chopped, and I haven't seen too many barrels that are stamped with barrel length anyways.

Your fear of problems from the police is controlling your purchases, and you are letting them win when you do it.

Please refer to my previous post for your prescription.

You have no idea what my fears are, or what controls my purchases.

I might be new to this site, but not new to firearms.

Some of us would rather spend the afternoon at the range and not sitting on the side of the road while some pimply faced 22 year old cop tries to make our life hard.

You seem to like to just run your big yap.

Exactly, we may know the barrel is legal, but with no way to prove it on the side of the road, we may be screwed....

Given that guys have had Dominion Arms 12.5" Grizzly's (complete with barrel markings) seized by uninformed LEO during roadside stops because they're "sawed off shotguns", marking don't mean squat.

At least WITH markings on the barrel you have a defence.
Unmarked barrels leave you with nothing but your nice smile..... (and we all know how far that goes! :D )

NEA barrel

Here are some pics of my SR with a 12" NEA barrel. I went to the range just to test fire it. Just fired a couple rounds to make sure everything was OK. I didn't check for accuracy.

Changing the barrel was a bit difficult as it is very tight in the receiver. The new barrel seemed even tighter than the original one.

I also found my NEA barrel to be tighter than the factory barrel. This is not a bad thing.

Simple trick is to put your NEA barrel in the freezer for an hour. If it's still too difficult, put your stripped receiver in the oven (I used a toaster over) at a low temperature for 5 or 10 minutes. Slides in like butter.
