Hehehe, this thread is priceless. To whoever cares, I am not a socialist and have no moral compunction about buying products that are made in a communist country, more than likely by non-union labour;-) These M305's work Da** fine and are a heck of alot of fun to use. Seems to me if you paid $649 for it you may clean it more often, which is great other than that who cares. It also occurs to me that every firearm imported and sold in our great country is another tick on the stat sheet that elected officals look at when they consider the gun "issue" and realize that if they haven't served enough years this could cost'em their pension cause the numbers keep climbing. yeeehaaaw, buddy.

Boys, "lever B" these guys are on our side, if the price is to high just smile and nod, it is all good. Now I can sell the other M305 I have for $650, hehehehe

Hey glo you seem to have a real disdain for a bunch of people here.. Most people don't talk so much trash in such a short period of time without an agenda...

Knowing John he wouldn't make an offer without being able to back it up. Unlike you it seems...

Seems like he was saying put up or shut up.. You apparently will not be putting up.. When you have the $200 M14 let us know...

Hey glo you seem to have a real disdain for a bunch of people here..

No. Did I make that apparent to you in particular? I don't see that coming out in my postings. Even if I "read between the lines," I don't read it coming out.

Most people don't talk so much trash in such a short period of time without an agenda...

How did you come to this conclusion from a few forum postings? Nothing of which I spoke disparages any one on the board, unlike your post here.

Indeed I would happily let you know. My postings were not directed at Frontier as I explained in an earlier post so maybe if you go back re-read my comments, that would help clarify.

As for "putting up," I already did but Canadian Tire is likely going to be swamped for $475 rifle requests so I would only apologize for that as the capitalist slaves at the store working for $9 an hour are going to have to field 30 or 40 phone calls.

I don't know "John" and wouldn't make negative comments on a forum about a guy I don't know so I think you are carrying this a little far with your comments above.

I think we've all hijacked Frontiers thread long enough. It's time to let it be.

Good on Frontier for being able to bring in something that people want.

Now all we need is the ammo :)

Give me a FREAKIN' BREAK!!! These are selling at other dealers for $475. Yes, same as the old price.

But now they are $519.95 at one dealer, but its not for sure yet if thats the final price and they will not do mail order and they only have 11 coming. You should be writing story books, on this thread alone there is a handfull of different stories.

Before you edited your first post, you wondered why anyone would buy anything from our store because we were so over priced. By my calculation if you were to factor in the price of shipping (that is if your guys would ship) we are an amazing $30.00 higher!!!! its hard to belive you live in Alberta with the cost of living and be irate over $30.00

A word of advice, unless you are talking in containers of rifles, Norinco will not even reply. Its like going to Rona and asking for a quote on 3 roofing nails.

Im not sure how much money John has, but if you had not already noticed at the local gun range, just about 1 in 8 people have a gun purchased from Marstar. With 2 million plus gun owners in Canada, its pretty safe to say his cheque would be more then good. Glo, put me down for 200 M14s @ $250.00 each (I dont mind paying more for a smaller order). PM me when they come in!!!

Yup

I am gratefull for anybody willing to bring in new stuff for us. Although it would be nice if people kept the prices as low as they could, but people have to make a living and I can't get everything for nothing can I? :)

Sometimes I am so dissapointed by the bunch of "negative nancies" we have hanging around the edges of our pristine, all inclusive society of law abiding gun owners/enthusiasts. There are so many threads here that are meant to be or start out to be all nice and then it is as if someone shines a light in a dark corner of my old New Jersey apartment and the roaches come scurrying out to nasty everything all up.

Make love not war!

although if you must make war kill the other guy as quickly as you can

VADER Z;
"And if you are implying in your statement above that Fabarm is shipping items illegally in to Canada then your bitterness saddens me."

You obviously don't know me, I would never point the finger at anybody, after all many are our clients....
I simply stated was is fact, some people some dealers are making illegal imports/exports.

GLO 7;
"Do you "really" have $750,000 US dollars John?"
You are kidding right ??
Although I will not discuss our financial matters I can tell you that for almost two decades Marstar has been a completely self financing corporation.... We pay as we go, do not use credit, do not request it.
If you think we can run Marstar on $750,000. you are in for a shock.

We already place larger orders than that with Norinco....And others

I was simply questioning you on how do we get the M-14s for $150./each....??

John

Carefull john, if you let on that you have to much net worth in your buisness and are turning a good profit, the comies in thread will be all over you demanding discounted or free stuff. How dare you make money, only politicians are allowed to.

I was saddened that the cast of "The Young and The Restless" went on summer break, leaving me with nothing but repeats from earlier in the season....but this thread is almost as good!!

I personally think Glo7 is involved in a love triangle with the Norinco rep and johnone. Ever since Frontier23 confronted him at the wedding reception, vader-z seemed like he wanted to spill the beans and tell everyone that TheManInBlack isn't really dead after all...he's just been in Honduras, looking for his 18 year old lovechild from a previous business relationship. Hopefully next episode we'll find out where that dirty, two-faced, backstabbing Novega buried the crate of M14s after his romp in the woods with that blond-haired customs agent.

With respect, it is $519 at one dealer and $465-$475 at Canadian Tire Red Deer. With respect to retail price points, these are the only prices I mentioned.

I edited my first post as a courtesy to you shortly after I wrote it. I should not have said not to buy from Frontier; I have no way of knowing what kind of value added services you provide (hence the editing). A public apology to you sir.

As I mentioned in my speculative post about the average price of an M14 from Norinco: $150-$250 is a good estimate of actual price. I partly base this on the Canadian Tire $465-475 quoted retail price and the fact that US dollars are lower at this writing than they were when Marstar was advertising the rifles retail for $399.00. This latter point is fact. Just take a look at the US dollar chart from 2007. The USD today is approximately $0.06 lower than it was in 2007. It is not be inconceivable to us that M14s in Canada should be retailing for less than they were in 2007, yes, under $399ea. CAD.

In my opinion.

I think that the price isn't all that unreasonable considering:

a) These rifles actually come with a usable stock
b) They're still a bargain compared to an M1A
c) At least some new parts are being used, such as the stock. Marstar's M14s were all assembled from parts on hand.

I'd buy one if I didn't have one already... but...

Maybe I still will.

What's up with the picture of the black stock M14s on Frontier's website. It looks weird, like the picture stretched or something?

Also on pricing, who really cares. I mean seriosly... with a synthetic stock years later $580 shipped seems pretty resonable to me.

GLO 7;
Nothing anyone says will convince you of any alternative, you have absolutely no idea what the hell you are discussing....
You have no details of the deal we cut with Norinco many years ago to buy up everything they had in parts for no longer valid US contracts....
You have no idea what we paid to have these rifles made....
May I respectfully sugegst you gain better and more accurate information before you proclaim these prices (costs)....

I repeat my previous question, when can we meet to discuss a contract for the M-14s you either own or can get at below cost from Norinco. I can travel on very short notice.

The is the first I have heard from you John. I do know a few things, namely Canadian Tire has Norincos for $465/$475, their new shipment. This is not speculation: this is a quote from James CT Sporting Goods) in Red Deer. My speculation as to the wholesale price for these rifles was only that. At $465 John, don't you think Canadian Tire is making money? Well, I happen to think a $100 markup for them is not out of the question. Now, Canadian Tire is not ordering 11 pieces of the M14 direct from Norinco. What that means is that the Canadian importer is likely getting their markup as well. We don't know how much, but certainly 15% is not out of the ordinary but for specialized items like these, the margins are often higher. Now, if you speculate further as to the real price John, I'd wager that the wholesaler is getting the rifles in the $250 price range.

You have no details of the deal we cut with Norinco many years ago to buy up everything they had in parts for no longer valid US contracts....

Are you from Marstar? If so, I spoke to someone at Marstar who incorrectly told me that there would be no more M14s coming into Canada. "No more parts are being made," they said, "...whatever is out there is out there." That turned out to be false, as we all know now, so if that is you or your staff, perhaps it is Marstar that doesn't know what they are talking about.

You have no idea what we paid to have these rifles made....

I have enough clout to find out exactly what you paid. Money talks. But old boys gun running networks don't, so it might be difficult unless my order is large enough.

John

If I obtain the opportunity to place a minimum order quantity from Norinco, perhaps we'll talk. Just don't expect a better wholesale price than Canadian Tire. Until then, enough said.
