new Norinco m305 vs springfields

I personally wouldnt even purchase one after 2013'ish, and even then not without a very thorough inspection of the rifle as per the stickies. I'm out of the Norinco game after having my LRB /USGI M14 pattern put together by M14Medic, but the new Norc's are Garbage. I would personally buy an older one of the EE, or talk to M14Medic and buy one that's been worked over and know you have a rifle that is as good and most likely better than a Springfield unless your stepping up to a National Match or Supermatch Springer
 
Ok call me simple, but what does the MiM acronym stand for? I'm assuming you mean they are no longer milled? I was thinking of a m305a in 7.62x39, but those are a recent import, are you guys saying they're crap? Im new to the Norc game since I avoided it for years.
 
MIM (metal injection molding) parts aaare made of powdered metal that is compressed into a form and heated, like how a plastic product is produced.

The original M14 bolts were meant to be forged and machined which is a superior product to MIM for strength

KCI mags are garbage. Absolutely stay away from them. I had a few and the metal wasn't heat treated right and was too malleable allowing the lips to easily deform.

I had the Corwin mags. I believe they're from Germany. They are a bit wide and painted so they start to get scuffed as you use them.

The Norinco mags really are the best ones I've used.

I also have a few 10 round sized mags (holds 5 rounds) from Springfield which are nice. All 4 fit my 3 M305s without issue but they didn't actuate the hold open catch
 
having owned both (mia socomII, m305 18.5), I will only add this. they both work great, neither are perfect out of the box. warranty from springfield is great, never had to check with norinco warranty, if there is any. from cost stand point, s/a doesn't make sense to me. I can buy a norc m305, and a stag 10 and still have money left over, not so if I buy a springfield.
you won't regret which way you go, they both perform as they should. the nod for detail will of course go to springfield, if that's worth the almost extra 2k, go get it.
