I got a new model M305. I was impressed by the new ones quality. Saw two examples in the store and both have properly indexed barrels, both have unusually light triggers, both have flash hiders that are not welded on, and both made the "ping" sound from the flash hider when closing the bolt, operating the safety, and dry firing. Oh yea and the safety doesn't require 20lbs of pressure to push on and off. Plus its a san ling ba.... I mean .308. I got reloading dies and bulk .308 bullets on order. Shooting .308 isn't that bad when you're loading them at 40 cents a shot.

looks good to me.

Maybe I missed the other two when I went looking but I only saw the one on the first page. I didn't see another until page 6. For the high volume that these guns sell, I'm not entirely too concerned about the bolt breaking until it actually happens. Then I will try to source a better bolt for it. If it was a problem happening to every gun, this forum would be littered with posts of broken bolts. Or.... These rifles aren't selling as much as I think they are. I remember the over gassed CSA Vz 58 problem. During that time, the red rifle forum was just CSA Vz 58 problem threads.

I don't have that on mine, only those numbers I said earlier...

I have one the same. The only markings on the outside of the receiver are:
"M305"
"Cal 7.62"
"P14####"

It was packed with an inspection slip dated Nov 2014. So it appears the year has been shorted to 2 digits in the serial numbers.

95 rounds through to date (20 150gr Federal blue box SP & 75 surplus Federal M80) with no issues. Bolt appears to have good contact on both lugs.

What kind of bullets did your order?

I always wondered how federal power-shok 150g ammo was so accurate in these rifles. I'm most likely going to order some of these and start loading them in milspec brass and 4064. If I can hold a 1.5 inch group with this recipe, I'll be happy.

The problem is I have thousands of these hornady interlock 150g bullets to use up first lol. I "average" 1.5 inches with these bullets to the point where it's boring. I noticed that Campro has some 147grain FMJ's for 25 cents each, I'll try these as well.

I find that they are still spotty on the QC. I have found one in a store that looks good sitting beside one with a poorly indexed barrel and a safety that almost needed a hammer to get to move. Both were from the same shipment. I would love to own another one, but there are too many issues to deal with.

Mines a P14####. Maybe it will explode too. It does bump fire very easily. Probably a combo of the federal primers I’m using and the light trigger. No big deal. If it explodes I’ll get a USGI bolt.
