My dad gave this to me. Nice guy eh? I spent 2 days removing some electrical tape that was on the stock and barrel to keep the wood from swelling in the rain. Was quite the task as it had turned into fossilized tape. And then cleaned and oiled the stock which was bone dry when I got it home, and fixed a small crack.

Its my Grandmothers match rifle. This thing won a huge collection of trophies and medals that we still have. Apparently she was the best in our family (Dads mom) but I was born after she had passed away. So its a family heirloom but don't worry it is going to get shot a lot.

In the first picture you can see how much it used to get shot from the skin oil impregnating the wood on the hand grip and fore stock. The wood is worn but for a 68 year old Winchester Model 52B Bull Gun (it weighs almost 12 pounds) I think it looks amazingly nice. Was curios on the value would never sell it though. It also has the original Redfeild peep sites and the screw in apertures, and the hook for the butt stock (also from the factory) is at my dads place. It has the single shot magazine in it but there is also a 5 shot magazine that has never been used. Oh and I have a hand stop from that was used on it but I could not find it in the Model 52B advertisements that I have scrounged up from 1940.

If you took the time to read that thanks and I have a question for you. A long time ago the family had two of these rifles and unfortunately one was stolen (my grandfathers) (I am talking like 1960 ish but I would have to ask my dad to find out). Do you think there is any chance of tracking it down? He is pretty sure he has the serial number for it as well as the Target Scope that was stolen at the same time. If not can I or he call the CFC and at least see if it is in the system (may have been sold a bunch of times and got registered eventually). Wow it might have a use after all. He or I would pay top dollar for this as it feels like someone stole part of my heritage and part of all CSSA members history as my grandfather is one of the founding members of the OSF (looked it up on CSSA website that how I found out 2 days ago lol)(My Dad never brags but I will on his behalf). And I am going to get a membership ASAP.

Let me know what you think and enjoy! TIA

value without seeing more pics and actually handling the gun

Very nice.

Suggest you try going to your local police service and inquire with them on the serial number. I doubt the CFC would give that information out.
