New Ontario electronic tags

True here. Even if you don't have to affix the seal if you accompany the animal, how do you know you are always going to be near it? I think I will be tagging at the kill site/time as usual to save the hassle of tagging later at an inconvenient time. The paper tag looks like it will be a "joy" to notch out the dates and times.

Im still trying to figure out how to securely attach my paper license to a dead wet animal. The mnr call in line said its ok to tie it with string as long as it remains legible.
At least with the plastic gluey tag it stayed on and was almost water proof. So if i stop on my way home for food at the local diner i must affix my tag. In the back of an open bed truck doing 120kmh down the hiway

That would make it a lot easier to notch. Do you stick one on the back and one on the front to sandwich the tag? Oh I get it I guess you could fold it over the tag. Somedays I am slooooowwwww.

Majority of the time the ppl on the phone for the mnr dont have a clue. They couldnt even tell me the season start date. I was told to use last years summary

How do you get to print out the actual tag? I was only emailed a license summary, no actual pdf of a tag that looks like yours (with dates to punch)

NVM found it by going to the ministry website and logging in. Under "my active licenses"

You didn't scroll down far enough... the first page displayed is the summary, followed by a page for each tag... once you print the tag, it does not allow you to print again. Go back in to your account and check your cart... the tags should still be available for printing

Print to pdf...

HEADS UP..

never mind the online account.. the first PDF you get in your browser.. they have print protection on it.. which mean IF YOU TRY TO SAVE THE PDF it only saves the first page summary and not the TAG.. so you only get one chance to print so take it while you get it.. if you save the pdf and try to print it later (like 99.9% of the print to pdf website features out there) it will not work and you need to call the MNR to get a local issuer to do a reprint for you. this "you are unable to save" is not clear in the website, and will become a problem for them until they add the warning as well.

Well....your not listening..

Thank you ... this is good to know. When the antlerless deer draw closed, and the tags are available, I will make sure to print it straight away to my home printer. I will even check if there is paper in it first. lol
