New or used? 9.3x62

Just picked up the Sauer from the post office...cleaning the barrel seems to be lots of copper fouling, I've ran a dozen wipeout patches and still coming out blue (wonder how many test rounds where fired at the factory?)

Rifle with Strikefire red/green dot all mounted is 7ibs 7.9 oz...the LGS here does have a Leupold 1.5-5x20 sitting in stock, tempting.

Brass bullets and dies should be here by the end of the week....the excitement builds :)

If it’s in the budget I definitely recommend the leupold 1.5-5x20 , it’s the perfect scope for that rifle.

My Sauer 100 in 9.3x62mm shoots the Norma Alaska extremely well. Also liked the Sellier and bellot round nose ammo as well.

Brass bullets and dies showed up this morning ...PPU Brass and PPU 285 gr bullets.

Only tried 2 loads (IMR 8208 at 53.5 and 54.2 grs) the wind was blowing 26 gusting 40KPH

The bolt is extremely smooth and FAST, feeding is awesome, trigger is great (2 lbs), stock seems to fit me very good...for the price of the rifle it looks to be a great buy so far! :)

^ You have bought a rifle which works with little cleaning and adjustments right out of the box. It has ten years of warranty to boot and you shot it.

You could still be sitting in front of the TV, for hours, with "valve grinding compound" to get a rough bolt running properly, fix undisclosed issues on a used POS and fight with mediocre (at best) triggers.

The M18 Mauser is every bit as good as the Sauer 100. The pressed barrel BS for these rifles has been spread on CGN and all over the Internet from a group of uninformed. At least they could have read up on why Sauer chose to press fit a barrel into some rifles.

Zastava all the way. I have both and the Husky (mauser 96) My Husky cocks on closing which is a little more effort on rapid fire. The Zastava is more modern design and based on the mauser 98 action but has metric receiver/barrel threads same as the Brno model 600. Good old European steel and wood. For the money they are a good value and can be improved and upgraded with aftermarket triggers, stocks, recoil pads. The Zastava model 70 uses the same action in their .375 H&H and .458 win running at modern chamber pressures.
Don't get me wrong, I love that light weight slim forearm Husky, but the Zastava is better.

Zastava is still the best value IMO.

I have several "modern push feed" actions and different Mausers in 9.3 caliber and for me, anyways, under hunting conditions, I don't see the difference, or I don't mind, maybe... but I must admit that when I am at the bench or stalking (say, in prone position, for coyote) or that I know I may shoot several rapid shots, I go to a "slick" mechanism. But I feel more soul through a Mauser than from any of the CNC machined rifle I own...
