New P226 9mm

Thanks all for the replies,

I performed a good cleaning and lubrication for the gun yesterday. Going to try it out again today "properly".

Will try all the tricks you mentioned and let you know how it goes.

Cheers,

So some updates,

Tried it today after proper cleaning and lubrification. Went through 15 mags. Not a single stovepipe and the slide locked back every single time !

I guess all it needed was a little tlc with the oil !

Thanks all again for the suggestions

Cheers,

Yes, many seem to blame Sig QC when issues arise but I've never experienced any issues with all the Sigs I've owned. Enjoy your 226, they are excellent pistols.

Glad it's working. Obviously lube issue. Fwiw its worth it couldn't have been grip as the rental you shot worked fine. Do enjoy, these a great pistols.

Good to hear.

So it is my first gun ever,

I bought it today, it was the last one they had ( it was on display). I first did not want to take it but they re-assured me it was brand new and never shot before. Two days ago, I rented out the p226 that they had for rental and it did not have that problem. I used the same ammo for both weapons. So basically I took it from the display and directly shot it as they told me it was all lubed up and ready to go.

After the first mag, the last cartridge stuck vertically in the extractor chamber. The next two mags, both times, the slide did not lock after the last round. I went and told the retailer that and he said it is perfectly fine as this gun is brand new and needs a couple hundred rounds to "break in". I am still not able to take the gun home as I do not have my transport license yet.

Ok beat me to it... Good to hear. The sig is an awesome pistol.

Recoil spring is new and might be too hard. Same happen to me on one of my new sig in the past. Leave it slide open and locked for a few days. Lube the spring. Shoot another 200 round and see. Pretty sure it's the problem. If not the only other options are the slide catch lever been too stiff or the mags spring too soft.

cheers.

Some updates

Had this thing for a month and a bit now. Around 200 rounds per week. Not a single stovepipe or jam ! I love it !
