Just saw on the pedersoli web site that pedersoli is now making their double flint shotgun as a 63 cal double rifle.it might make an interesting gun for deer hunting

I suspect it would be fairly heavy and a key issue for me is whether or not it is regulated. The recent Kodiak rifles had separate sights for the two barrels

cheers mooncoon

can a round ball be shot out of a percussion 12 ga with any accurate results? I know my 58 Kodiak was very accurate out to 150yds but with a rainbow lob in hit.

Sold off the kodiak rifle it was made by Safari Arms, selling the CVA right now but the flinters are a different animal.

Without the barrels being regulated it I can t see how it would be much use because it only has the one rear sight unlike the Kodak guns.Maybe they should have brought out a combo gun with rifled on one side and smoothbore on the other.Hopefully when they hit the streets there will be more info on them so one can find out about the accuracy etc

Get rid of the basket weave, and set it up with locks as attractive as their Mortimer locks (that is, locks that look like originals), and it would e a good looking piece.
I agree that a combination gun would avoid regulating issues inherent in a double rifle, and be quite useful.
The rifle is .62, the shotgun is 20ga, so the double rifle shouldn't be overweight.

I did order a Pedersoli Kodiak in .54 cal from Blair from Loyalist Arms but the barrel would not snap down into the stock so back it went. Love the kodiak rifle idea but a heavy gun to be lugging around all day looking for deer.

make yourself what you want, Trade gun look , flintlock, rifled barrel, octagon to round with wedding band, 54 caliber for ease of supplies

Not sure if people considering this are aware but the double shotgun is about $2000. The rifle is likely going to be more.
The weight and width shouldn't be discounted either. Gets pretty big when you add the locks.
