**NEW** Pics Of My New SS Custom Dlask 1911

Very, very nice! I can live with the front serrations on a 1911 that is that nice.

ian_in_vic, is the quality of a Dlask superior to that of a Dan Wesson (DW) 1911? I ask as DW only makes about 10 1911s per work day; my point being a DW is virtually a custom and they are about $775-$1,000(US).

Regards,

Richard:D

As an answer to why not a stainless Trojon from STI, fisrt of all the gun your seeing is my friends.

The Sti Trojon is A Big Mac with a large fri and a Coke. Plastic mainspring, slop in the frame to slide fit and lets hope your ejector don't break. All that for a $1300 plus price tag. Though I like the STI wood grips.

This Dlask Is a Fine cut of grilled steak, If you like the Trojon that is cause you never owned a Dlask.

Dlask will build you what you ask for. DW (while I love my DW) is bought off the shelf and you get what they think you want. Custom is when they make to your specifications/options. They both are very sweet 1911's and the DW is superb value for the money. They go for about $1500+ CDN and so does a nice customized Dlask with most bells and whistles. Here's a pic of both:

My DW has been absolutely superb... I recommend it to anyone looking for a quality 1911.

But of course, as mentioned, you do get what Dan Wesson thinks you should get so of course its not a "custom to your specs" 1911.

And a sidenote: the bobtail is the best thing since sliced bread... Im gonna do this mod to every commander 1911 I own in the future

Richard, while I love the Dan Wesson line they aren't hand lapping slides and frames, or machining in match grade barrels to minimum tolerance. There is a lot of precision machining and skilled hand fitting in a Dlask. I know that the majority of "big name" 'smiths in the US are now virtually factories, but the volume of pistols sold on our market makes that kind of operation impractical here. So we get the advantage of pistols that are still handled by the guy who's name is on the door. I'd be very surprised if I was told Dlask makes 10 guns in 2 weeks.

here is my colt Commander that I just purchased

No custom job , but its got some promise don't you think, I was going to buy a new Commander but I #### at the price of a Dlask So I scored this in the box from a collector with only 50 rounds ever fired through it. Like my new Project Piece???

WOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEE!!!!!

That is one hell of a gun!!!

Dlask can make some real quality stuff, for sure.

Let us know how it shoots - the problem, if any, won't be blamable on the gun anymore - :)

Here's my Dlask Delta Elite. I had a whole bunch of work done including a ramped barrel. I had problems with it feeding at first but I sent it back and now it feeds like a champ. Josef was really good to deal with, fixed the problem at no cost and paid for shipping. Overall I'm real happy with him. I have a series 70 Colt that I'm probably going to send down to him next but like Pier I'm really looking for a commander. Speaking of which Pier if you decide you do want to sell that just let me know.

Ian is it standard practice for all Dlask pistols to have the hand fitting, lapping sides and frames etc or do you order each feature individually? I will call or drop out there but just want to get an idea. I would like a 9mm version of Thor's .45 in stainless.
