New Pistol Condition

Hi guys,
Can you look at the 3 pictures below and confirm if conditions of a pistol are consistent with a brand new pistol. Also if the barrel fits and is safe for use.

I am concerned as barrel is not centred in the slide.

The gap on top is supposed to be there as the muzzle cants upward upon unlocking.
Look again with slide locked back.

Looks like test fire to me. Probably more than a few mags though...

The gap is a tad larger than I like but like Robin said, upon unlocking, the barrel will tilt upward.

As Harry said, the gap is a bit larger than you'd see on the similarly designed SIGs.

Fit is very good. It's It's fns 9l from al flaherty. Great guys. So copper residue and marks from test fire. And gap is normal, I guess?

Sure is, go ahead and shoot it. Report back on how it shoots. I was on the fence when I saw those at $550. Lucky for me they were gone within a few hours!

The gap needs to be big enough for you to be able to drop the barrel down and back out of the slide for disassembley.

I could be wrong; however, I doubt the manufacturer would cut the angle any more than was needed to accomodate the way the chamber end comes out.

Does this extra space go all the way through the slide or is it a chamfer that is just cut into the forward area?

I can accept that the ovalized hole is needed or that it may be a relief chamfering and the inner portion is more round to support the barrel. What bothers me more from these pictures is the over large clearance for the recoil spring pin. I can clearly see the end coils of the spring through the gap. That's not a nice feature if the goal is to provide an even seating pressure and positioning for the recoil spring.

It's pretty snug. Actually fit is very nice. I think I noticed it because it in silver. If it was black, it would be hard to notice.

The barrel and slide are fine and perfectly normal. The exterior part of the chamber is pic 3 looks like the slide was racked more than once or twice. If the barrel is blued, I would take a look at how much blueing is worn off from the portion where the slide meets the barrel as this wears first. You can also check the portion of the slide (the term escapes me at the moment) where the case contacts the slide, there shouldn't be any evidence of wear there if the gun has only been test fired.
