hey guys
i am coming to you looking for some advice.
im looking to pick up a pistol in the 700-900 range.
i hear good things about the FNP45 taurus 24/7 OSS and the steyr m40-a1
have toyed with the idea of glock and smith mp and springfeild xd
i have also heard about taurus supposed lifetime warranty but then read a post about how we are all alone up here. i have handled the taurus and really like the ergos seeing as i have smaller hands.
can you guys offer any adivce about a pistol and please include warranty if you know it.

Of the models you mentioned, I'd narrow it to Glock and the S&W M&P.

Ammunition cost and recoil should be taken into account. Before you buy, be sure that .45ACP is what you want. Be sure that the pistol is the size that you want. Consider also the availability of a .22LR conversion kit for the model you would select.

I owned M&P and Steyr m9-a1, shot a Glock and handled the PT24/7 :)

M&P is a great pistol! probably should've kept it :( steyr was ok but not my thing and 24/7 while I am a Taurus fan don't like the looks of it. but it should be a decent gun. Check out TaurusArmed.net for more info.

Definitely an STI Spartan for your budget. Excellent reviews. My best friend bought one this year (.45) and this gun never misses a beat, all the while shooting disturbingly straight over and over again. Well made with solid parts. Total value for the money and they come in different calibres too.

Check it out and good luck!
