I bought my first pistol yesterday, a Smith&Wesson M&P 9 with the range kit. Now for the long wait, 3 to 5 business days for the paper work to clear. Then I can bring it home, hopefully the range is dry so I can try it out on the way home.

Enjoy, I love mine.

As tobaman45 said, the M&P22 is great choice for cheaper ammo with the same form factor as you M&P9. It fits perfectly in the range kit holster with no adjustment required switching between .22 and 9 mm.

Congrats..great first choice...I would love to go shooting...club has closed it down until the road in gets repaired...really muddy slurry....

I had a lot of guns in my hands over the past month or so and I did a lot of reading and it came down to the Jericho 941 and the M&P. The salesman put the large grip on the M&P and that helped make the final decision. My next handgun will be a revolver although I am not sure what caliber. During my search I discovered I like the feel of the Smith & Wesson 629. I also found out that I didn't like the Colt Peacemaker style of revolver, which was disappointing because I have wanted one since I was a small boy. That may not stop me from getting one some day.
