Well, I shouldn't say new players....they are actually among the oldest.

I just came back from my local shop with info about Browning releasing one in the new year.

Browning 1911-22 A1

I think this is to celebrate the 100 year old platform.

And with that also....Colt Umarex should be coming out with one this month.

I'd be very interested in the Colt Gold Cup version.

And both are reasonably priced around $400-$600.

Can't wait!!!

Seems like everyone is getting on the 1911 .22lr bandwagon.

Personally, my GSG 1911 .22lr is shooting every bit as good as my Colt .22 conversion unit working off a SA GI 1911A1 frame. 'Course the Colt unit has a fully adjustable rear site but it also does have that floating chamber that tends to get gummed up with bore fouling if it is not religiously cleaned after each range trip. The GSG 1911 just keeps on goin' & goin'.

I'd be happy with a fully adjustable rear site for my GSG 1911 .22lr like on the Colt unit, though.

I bet the Browning & Colt dedicated 1911 .22's will be comparatively expensive.... 'cause you just have to "pay" to have that brand name on your stuff..... ;)

NAA.

I would certainly buy the Colt, but I already have the GSG 1911 and I'm happy with it.
I like the rail on the Colt. Tacticool. :D Yeah, the markings are cheesy, but some dark shoe polish would fix it. :D
