NEW PRIMERS: Made in Germany! RWS Large Rifle Primer Just Arrived! Limited Quantity!

Pricing on primers and powder going to go down... Hahaha yea right.

You obviously have not been awake or watching much have you!!

All powders have basically gone down in the last few months as they get new stock in at the lower prices. Most, if not all types have been in the $99 dollar mark, and those same ones are now sitting $85 ish. You can still get some in the $68 ish range. That is rifle powders, per lb.

Did you miss the prices we saw during 2021-22? They already HAVE gone down on basically everything but Large Rifle primers. And Large Rifle primers will come down too as soon as supply returns... No idea when that is actually gonna happen, but it looks like we're getting close by the fact that I've seen Federal LRPs available, as well as the GINEX that have been more available than most, and now these RWS primers.
Yes I saw high priced during the pandemic - highest prices was on the auction sites. New primers from the big brands weren't available in 21/22. Next to nothing came in the country. If they were cheaper and you could find them, stores were selling old stock based off their old cost. Primers just straight up cost stores more to buy than they did a few years ago which translates into higher retail pricing. Manufacturers usually don't lower price so I can't see price going back to what they were.

New stock at lower prices? LOL.
Thanks Rangeview for at least making these LRP's available. I hope we see more in 2024.

You make more money selling 20 boxes of primers with $1 markup than you do selling 1 box with $15 markup - this goes for both retail and manufacturing. As this thread has shown many people are simply not willing to buy at the current prices. Right now the supply is so low that they can move the very small amount of supply, but as soon as supply returns to pre-pandemic levels there is going to be a lot of $35 primers sitting on shelves.

As a business manager, my philosophy is to attract as many customers to my shop as possible and make sure they leave happy. With retail competition like it is, a return customer is not something to P#ss away on a few extra quick bucks.
You cant please everyone but if you happen to have a line on a product that's in demand, it makes good business sense to sell it for the normal price you would under other circumstances. If you happened to get it because you paid through the nose for it, then make sure you communicate that to your customer as the reason for the high price.
I have gone so far as to show a customer my books so they know the margins I deal with.
If the guy walks out the door grinding his teeth over how much you gouged him, you aren't going to see him again when the other sellers have stock available.

I was down in Montana in August for a rodeo. Decided to go down to Havre to do some shopping. Groceries were the same price as Canada but powder was way cheaper with exchange factored in. Decided against it knowing the US rules. When I returned I got a full exit check. Was asked about firearms, firearm parts, ammo, componants. This was the first time ever to be exit searched. Glad I made the decision and not lose my wife's Acura A Spec..
