NEW PRODUCT: LCW 7.62x39 FMJ and HP

The factory uses both words interchangeably (lacquer is a polymer). It is a new enviro coating that will not cause the problems of the old green lacquer, not that it matters in 7.62x39.

Interesting, problems with the old green lacquer being build up on the bolt face and or chamber?

not that most people shoot there gun enough to get it hot enough to melt the lacquer.

Anyone tried the HP in a XCR? MFS FMJ shoots well out of my XCR but need hunting ammo in hope of hunting with it someday. CanAm does not seem to sell this in small quantities.

Conversely does Anyone in Burnaby/Metrotown area or from there to POCO want to split a case of HP.

^^^^ Yea wondering if that qualifies for hunting but I don't think so?
Luke s, I don't believe this is military surplus and it is non corrosive so the price will be higher actually more than double the price! but if you don't like cleaning your gun a lot then its a bargain!

I'll laugh, because that's clearly a joke. :)

The CZ 527 Carbine I bought a while back is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned. More so than my rem 700 270 win with a long arse barrel I used to have. Took a week or two to track down the scope rings but they're not impossible to find. It's by far my favourite object.

Ya, not quite the bolt action 20"+ barrel you were dreaming of. I think he was trying to link to a picture of a Interarms Mark X Mini Mauser in 7.62x39 and somehow got that instead.

Yeah... not quite! LOL. Make that not even in the same ball park! :)

not 20inch, but still a bolt action

Does a straight pull have the loading/extraction leverage that a traditional bolt action has?
When I was looking into K31s, most people reloading for them said to full length resize, which suggests the answer to my question is: No.

As you point out, it's not 20"+ barrel length. Immediate fail.

To be clear, I'm re-barreling a 20.5" Savage Scout for an extra 1.5", and also to get a proper .310" groove. So emphasis on the +. Also, the reason why I went to a bolt action is to get some semblance of accuracy. Straight pull, or semi auto, an AK isn't what comes to mind when I think about accuracy. That being said I'll keep an open mind... anyone have a 100 yard target with their Interarms straight pull? And it still isn't 20"+... lol. Also... does the Interarms straight pull really solve the optics mounting problems I've described?

A CZ 527 seems like a good option for accuracy... However, being of German descent, I suffer from the condition of squareheaditis, and therefore I like to have an optic mounted pretty low in relation to the stock. A cheek weld can become a chin weld pretty quickly for me. And it's an 18.5" barrel.

Yes, I'm picky, and I research before I buy.

Anyhow, this thread is about ammo, so I'll bow out at this point, however...

P.S.: Srsly... 7.62x39 (real) bolt actions. Import them... and stuff. :)

It's nice to know there is a regular supply of high quality 7.62x39 to be had in case the cheaper surplus stuff starts to run out.

I feed my CZ 527 Carbine the cheap stuff as of now, but I definitely will consider some of these from Canam in the future.

@Nullshine

I understand your issues with the CZ 527 as I had the same concerns when researching what to buy. I came to the conclusion that for a short range cartridge like the x39 the extra barrel length wasn't really going to mean a whole lot for my purposes. And, I am pretty happy with the scope mount I achieved. It's a Burris Timberline scope with the Burris/CZ medium rings. It is a bit closer to a chin weld but definitely feels secure and repeatable, definitely wasn't as much of an issue as I had thought it would be. The high mount is kind of necessary with the open sights still on the rifle as a back up anyway. It's a beautiful little light weight laser beam that shoots this cheap ammo at great accuracy. Very good value for your money. My favorite aspect is the set trigger I think.

I will split a case with you. I work in Burnaby and am fairly flexible during the day.

now we just need bolt-action rifles in stock to fire these things...

This was brought up in a different thread. Turns out CanAm has been trying to bring in rifles but their supplier won't play ball with the bulk quantities they want to order.

We all want a rifle + ammo deal and CanAm would love to sell us such a thing but it's their supplier holding things up.

That's too bad, i have around 3000 rnds of surplus, and 200 rounds of Hornady/MFS....i just want the rifle. I've been looking for a JW-103, cause I'm a cheap skate, i would really love a CZ 527 in x39, but they are rare on the EE and often cost more than retail  The savage scout is in the back of my mind, but it cost more than the 527, and i would prefer a wood stock.

Just received my cz527 last Friday. I have a crate of surplus x39 arriving today and a case od LCW HP en route for next week.

Can't wait to shoot them with both cz and sks.

So no one has tried the HPs in a XCR?

Hopefully my case will arrive this week so I can compare this LCW vs MFS.

Too bad not sold in box of 20s. Anyone in Burnaby/POCO area wanna trade several boxes of FMJs for HPs.

Ordered case of HP last Fri, shipped yest, arrived this morning.

Now to see if ammo any good in XCR. If so will be looking at splitting a family order for that extra 10% off.

CanAm> For the family pack will you let us mix the FMJ and HP?
