New product to Stun and Amaze.

Just curious, what do they classify these as? They seem to fall somewhat in line with a taser... But perhaps novelty..? Is it because it's below a certain amperage?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure tasers and stun guns are prohibited because they are a concealable weapon. These are not, so they aren't prohibited.

Hooray for the nanny state keeping us all safe!

Anyone use the Hike N Strike before?

There is a dearth of reviews, but a lot of people selling them.

My wife is looking for something to take on her walks, but hates the look of the amazing stun cane. She says she's not 80 yet.

They are new on the market.

Heh "kids using them in street fights"... I'd be just as concerned with kids using ski poles as they're decent impact weapons and make fairly good spears, this gives a hiker another option when dealing with an overly interested animal.

But does it have a powerful enough shock to deter any predators?

Sounds like we need a video to find out!

In all honesty tho, cattle prods legal and have been used to 'encourage' animals to move and keep away. They are in the same voltage range. My guess would be that they need to be big enough to move a moose but safe enougH incase you accidentally zing yourself.
