I think I may go with lower scope rings when Thomas finally gets the rail extensions for UTG/Springfield tri rail handguards. until then, she'll look strange uptop.

All I need now is to find time to shoot it :) :(

I've had to sell off a few potential projects in light of my new family member (which is fine by me :)) I may whittle down the collection to 2-3, but if she shoots as good as she looks, maybe 1-2 :ninja:

Very nice... me likey.... one of these days I'm gonna have to get all the M1 guns out and join you at the range...

That looks fantastic. Looking forward to hearing a range report. How's the scope for aligning with your eye? I like the raised stock attachment point, that should help eliminate the need for a cheek riser hopefully. How's it look in that regard?

Thanks for all the comments guys :)

I have Thomas to thank for alot of the custom work on the internals and barrel work.

The eye relief is juuust right at 1.5x with the stock on "2" but on max magnification, even on setting "1" (closest to grip) I have to move my cheek off the stock and onto the tube to get a proper sight picture.

I think if I have options to mount the scope lower and further back, that would be ideal. Just need to wait for options.

I frequent Spruce Grove Gun club alot now, I may be able to find some time this Sunday to sight it in, but I think there is a Service rifle match going on (argh) They're pretty fun to participate in.

Cyanide, really nice, how much? Where did you buy everything and what all do you have there? Can you list with prices?

Cyanide, awesome set up indeed...
There is an extra piece you could get that goes in place of your clip guide.
Knock pin out fr. the old one slide new one in. There is a Weaver piece in top of it-would allow you to move your scope back. I have got the piece on my M-305, works well.
Actually too well: wife keeps running me out of ammo every time. :)
My stock is different, it is a Sage M-14 Mod.0. I believe the piece is by Sage as well.
Looks some thing like this:

Cheers,

The stock itself is a Vltor which I purchased off of the EE with an unfired M14 installed for about $1200. I do not believe you can get these into Canada anymore, but I *think* Jeff (Morpheus32) may have one left. Not sure on that.

A list of the work done to the barrel and internals are as follows performed by the Doctor, M14Doctor (and some simple parts swap done by me):

-18.75" barrel, crowned and threaded to 1/2x28 TPI
-M1A Bolt installed, properly lapped in and timed
-Firing pin hole dimension and protrusion checked
-Headspace verified at 1.6345 safe for 7.62 and .308
-USGI spring and oprod spring guide pin
-Marstar Oprod Match spring guide
-Oprod guide has been stippled, seated, locktited and aligned for proper piston timing
-Gas assembly has been tig weld unitized and the welds blued, barrel splines conditioned to negate rotation, gas band shoulder conditioned for correct gaslock fit and gas port alignment
-Vortex flash hider installed
price list can be found here You might even find something you like :)

I hope this helps answer everyones questions :)

Serguei, Is it Sage that makes that little bit? I am going to see if I can find one now. I hope that little bit isn't affected by the exportation ban that the US currently enjoys. Is there a part number or a specific name for that piece?. If anyone has a spare one they are not using, I'd like to pick it up :)

Damn... pricey... i guess it's back to the drawing board for me :p

could probaly put something very similar together using a Rem 870 stock adapter and collapsable stock set.
