I haven't shot one of the new ones but did get a chance to handle one at the 2020 SHOT Show. It was very nicely finished, the grips are attractive, lockup was tight and unlike some new Colts I've handled in the past the trigger pull was very smooth for a production gun. I know some of the early ones have had a few function glitches but as long as those were an anomaly people will probably be quite happy with them. Unfortunately I just can't justify a $2200-2300 price tag for a gun that, for all intents and purposes, will do nothing better than my S&W 686 which is only a little more than 1/3 the cost. The Pythons might be marginally better in terms of appearance but for that kind of money a person could buy a nice 686 PLUS a good quality 1911. Maybe I'll rethink this if the price ever drops out of the stratosphere but until then I'll be going Pythonless.
