I came across this the other day on Fab Sports Website and it was sold out, I went back there this morning and guess what? In stock. I called to Verify this and proved to be true. I placed an order at 9am, at 9:28 i received a confirmation email. Also to my amazement at 11am I recevied a delivery notice via Canada Post that my item was picked up and was in there hands. WoW:D

Fab Sports is on the ball.

Great customer service.

and a great product... had mine out on the weekend... 60 rounds down range, held zero perfectly...

Looks like a good design for an aimpoint or reflex red dot sight. Can't imagine using it with a scope as illustrated. You'd need what about 6" of eye relief?

They seem to work really well for my aimpoint...

A scout scope would work with it. Ar15.com has a whole bunch of setups showing the scopes mounted like that (but they are scout scopes mounted farther down). A couple guys there actually think the red dot is pointless on the rifle and that 2X-6X power scope is the right route to go...

Ill stick to my aimpoint though.. seems to be rock solid after 60 rounds..

Will this fit with my Smith mount attached???

Doubt it. The picture of the rail shows that it has an extension that screws down to the left side of the receiver, same hole as the scope mount uses. I wonder why no one has made a rail or scope mount that anchors to the two slots in the barrel that the handguard clip goes into?

Ya.. the normal scope mounts wont work, like Grizzlypeg stated. But if you look at mt84s rail, he as the extension piece that attaches to the rail itself, allowing for a normal scope to be used.

I dunno how well it would hold zero though without an anchor point in the back

I've tried this, and it did not hold zero very well. However, some people on these boards seem to think my lack of zero was due to the scope (a relatively cheap one) rather than the mounting rail, so YMMV. I'm going to try the same scope with a better mount later this summer, and if it still sucks then I will replace the scope.
