Had some bits waiting for this one. Strike Eagle 1-8 in mdt rings, trijicon mounted holosun
Copped Bartok's style on the midwest stock but I happened to have a spare zhukov riser. One small hole through and a bit of cord that needs tidying up later and we have a comfy weld.
All I've done is taken it out of the box and get it more or less set up. It feels good, as far as mil spec out of the box triggers go it has a reasonably clean break, not super heavy.
It feels like a quality item in the hand. Will report back when I've had it out to the range.

I think TSE is filling the existing backlog of orders from interested parties first and then they'll be on the site regularly. Give them a call, they'll probably be able to give you an eta on availability
Haven't had a chance to get to the range so all I can do is get config work done and nit-pick. I do have two nits to pick but overall I do want to restate that so far with all things pertinent to the function of the rifle I am happy.
Got a triggertech drop in installed without issue (drop in, zero fitment issues, happy with that). I found that I'm not a fan of the stock K2 grip (the rubberized exterior doesn't do it for me and it's a on the slim side (I like a rifle with love handles) so I went to install a MIAD grip I had in the parts bin because it's extra thicc, ran in to a couple oddities that weren't obvious with the rubber K2 on there.

The trigger guard depth is just about a mm shallow for standard ar15 spec which I think is an oversight that can be corrected in a later iteration, not a functional problem at all.
The beavertail radius is also just a hair out of spec from AR standard, the rubber k2 deforms around it with no issue but any rigid beavertail grip may need to be shaved down with a dremel ever so slightly, with the MIAD it pushes the backstrap off so that was an issue. 2 minutes with a dremel solves it. Not critical, not pertinent to the function of the rifle.

I wonder if the MIAD type 2 (for 308 AR) would work better
i think it just looks high, you have to remember an ar15 has a charging handle there, I don't think this would really be noticeably higher.
Pretty sure you can use both 223 and 5.56 as well.

There out now but you have to move fast if you want one. TSE and Target Sports in Ontario are the only retailers as of now so I was informed. None in stock at TSE and Target Sports you have to call in an order it appears. I couldn't find any way to search or purchase anything on their site anyway.
JR told me how many they were making (approximately) per week but he can share that info here if he likes. Needless to say it will be a while before you can pick one up at your local retailer .. apparently. Relaying what I was told.
EDIT: JR has been in touch already and we'll chat about the results I saw.
EDIT2, JR wasn't satisfied with the results I'm getting, rifle is going back to get this fixed up, customer service is good and hopefully we'll be back up and running soon and I'll be able to provide a better range report for this big beaut.
So the results were a bit more interesting than expected. The rifle ran well, there were a couple little hangups but I was running a mixed bag of ammo through an out of the box rifle. nothing a quick rack of the charging handle couldn't sort out.
I want to preface this by saying that I did not clean the rifle before hand, it was in good shape out of the box. I did replace the trigger for something lighter. These are the first rounds shot so the barrel my have some unpolished burs that threw some of the results off?
With the right ammo I think the accuracy is acceptable but nothing to write home about, however it seems to be very picky about what ammo it likes and there doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency except maybe heavily favouring boat tail projectiles
Next steps are strip, clean, make sure everything is snugged up and then next weekend I'll go back out and retest with at least some of the ammo, specifically the bulk stuff to see if maybe it just needed to be worked in and lubed up a bit.

No but you and sfrc risked your customers health and safety with those shotty troy 102s. With known faulty firing pins etc. Know what can happen when a firing pin breaks?
