Hey Guys, I picked up a brand new rascal today. I sighted it in using a box of 50 cci quiets. I had at least 10 misfires.... After a quick cleaning the gun would fire properly but the misfires did continue after a few shots.
Any ideas? thanks in advance,
dan

If it was me, I'd take apart the bolt and see if there is any rough machining marks on the firing pin or channel I could polish out. Just knock off the worst spots. I'm betting either your firing pin spring is weak or your pin is being slowed down. Might work fine after breaking in, but you could get it running well right now if that is the problem.

Does the ammo work fine in another gun?

I guess you could call them "light strikes". After a recock the gun would fire. I just hit the bolt with some solvent and it does seem like it freed up the firing pin. Must have been a bunch of crud in there from the factory. I'll likely get a chance to test it out tomorrow. I only resently got my PAL and all this stuff is new to me...Learning lots here.
Thanks,
dan

What brand of ammo?

If you bought it local, and the issue persists, I'd quickly return it for another one. You should be able to make it work, but I don't think you should have to on a new firearm.

Thanks guys, a quick cleaning seems to have solved the problem for the most part. There was a lot of crud just inside the chamber and it felt kind of rough.
I also have a bl-22 and a mkii bv but I think this little rascal is going to be my favorite. It's just so easy to shoot. I paid a $169.00 for it at Fishing World in hamilton,
