This could very well be used as a rattle toy for my future child :D

Got it in the mail last night, first 1911. :D 2k rounds just arrived, 10 more mags on the way :D

Slide to frame fit isnt too bad, but the trigger rattles like crazy, sounds like one of those "ring for service" bells. Grip safety is a bit loose but from what i hear it can be tightened up by adjusting the spring.

I have to wait until friday to shoot it unfortunately... unless i call in sick...... and i do feel an illness coming on.........

Congrats. Despite the rattle, I like the look of her. I might end up getting one regardless but I'll hand pick mine in person just to be safe.

You should sell that rattle toy to me at 50% off ..... hehehehehe J/K

Congrats on the new Ruger. Yup, keep us posted on the range report.

Congrats!

Dude!!!! I just said, I'm keeping it for my future kid to play with!!! all that ringing and rattling will keep him/her entertained!!!!! :p

In all seriousness as this is my first 1911 i dont have a frame of reference but even so it seems like a well built pistol (for the price). I will post a range report as soon as i get to take it out.

So the rattling so mainly due to the trigger? I ordered mine a couple weeks ago but now I'm getting concerned hearing all this talk about poorly fitting parts. I can live with a rattling trigger but if the slide to frame fit is bad then that's certainly more of a concern to me.

Was at a local gun store about a week ago to check out the Ruger. The one they have on display was like a spray rattle can. The slider-frame, trigger and grip safety was loose. I asked the sales guy if their other stocks of the SR are the same and he said they are. It's probably a hit and miss thing with the SR. Some folks have really tight ones and some are loose.

Very nice. Looks just like mine.:p

My Colt government series 70 has a slight rattle....as do my Glocks, and my SKS.
All my reliable guns do. :)

+1... I have a Colt S70 Govt with an adjustable trigger in it.... yup, she rattles a bit, too.

NAA.

All the ones we have seen come through have been quite good. For price point at 725.00 for a new 1911 it is probably one of the best buys out there for an AMERICAN MADE pistol. They work well and do the trick just fine. I do have a couple left over SR 1911's available fro purchase if anyone would like one so they can see for themselves.

thanks for all the comments. i'll try to take it out tomorrow and post a couple of targets.

The feed for the toy is here now :D

one good thing about chinese ammo it will definitely contain lead... at least my back says so.

With all the recent negative canadaammo threads ill give them props for this one, it took a few days to proccess and ship it but its free shipping, cheap prices and free targets :D

Funny how instead of 2 crates of ammo i could have bought another ruger 1911.......

Well today i went to work and realized that out of all the days, today is not a day to be spent doing paperwork, so i left and went to the range :D

Shot about 130 rounds, 100 norc .45, 30 winchester whitebox stuff. The only reason i didn't shoot more is that i got tired of reloading 2 mags at a time, i have 10 more on the way :D. Not a single failure, went bang every time. The only issue was the grip screws on the left panel got loose. Nothing that an allen key can't fix. I've shot a couple of .45s over the years, but none of them my own. Lets just say that i had a huge smile on my face ever since i fired off the first shot.

I wanted to try it at 50 yards of the rest, but honestly i just forgot.

Overall im very happy with this gun. All the rattling stops bothering you after the first shot. From my inexperienced view this seems like a great gun.

On the other hand, i had my first malfunction with a gen4 glock 17!!! Failure to feed!!!! I blame it on the ammo, i was using Remington UMC, I never had a problem with the cheaper MFS stuff (other than a round with no primer).
