Are most of the flat top receivers sold now strictly M4 feedramps? If so, what should I do to put a new receiver on my standard rifle barrel. I want to keep the barrel because it is a heavy stainless target barrel that shoots great, but I hate my current upper.

Wouldn't it also be possible to have a gunsmith re-profile the rifle feed ramps to carbine ones as an alternative? Then you could get whatever upper you want.

I'll also give you $75 for your current upper. ;)

I've read of guys reprofiling it themselves, with a dremel and a chain saw sharpening bit that is apparently the right width.

I'm curious if all receivers now have the M4 feedramp cuts. If that's the case, so must all new barrels. I'm clueless on this, but no doubt some on here deal with this all the time.

Ran into this issue when I replaced the A1 upper on my CQ311 with an A2. Filled in the little notches with JB weld. Have run a few hundred rounds thu it now and haven't had any feeding issues.

NEA has both M4 and Rifle feed ramped receivers. Call Paul at Target Sports and he will set you up. They have them in stock. Billet uppers for $179...... cant go wrong.
