New Release - Marlin 1895 Trapper in 45-70

It's getting silly. I've had a Marlin Trapper on order since last summer.

Korth need to get enough rifles to dealers to at least get the backorders with paid deep deposits at dealers cleared out.

Unfortunately Korth Groups hands are tied.

Ruger/Marlin is not shipping enough rifles to Canada.

Huge demand, not enough production = long waiting lists.

Your best bet is to get on the stock notice mailing list of every dealer selling Marlins so that when they come in you get an email. In the last couple of months I’ve received multiple emails from various dealers getting them in. I’ve just missed the boat because I drive a truck for a living and don’t usually get to look at my phone much during the day.

That shouldn't be the best bet though... that's what I'm saying.

Customers that have paid cash deposits and ordered these rifles through Korth's dealer network should take priority over random web store stock.

I'm not playing a game and pissing around, I put down a deposit in good faith, put an order in with a dealer, the distributor should work with the dealers to get these rifles out first.

If there's a will, there's a way. Korth needs to work with Ruger/Marlin to get this addressed because this ultimately hurts their brand.

Supply chain and demand excuses don't cut it anymore.

Get a refund, suck it up and buy one from Gun-post.

You will pay up to $3000.00 for one though.

Korth has no idea which dealer has taken a deposit or not. This is a dealer mistake in my opinion.

And it's like 45CAT stated, the gun manufactures will continue to favor the American market.

Trudy will ban all guns eventually, we all become criminals due to dictatorship and corruption.

In the interim, go buy one off the EE or the aforementioned site.

At least you will have one before sh1t hit's the fan.

Nothing will hurt the Ruger/Marlin brand.

As long as this demand continues and I don't see it slowing down, Ruger/Marlin and all other lever action rifles will continue to be sought after.

The lever craze in North America is like I have never seen before.

When/if and how many come to Canada is beyond Canadas control, and to cater to or place higher priority of distribution of such limited quantities to the stores that pre-sell isn’t fair to those that don’t….it would be obvious favoritism and we’d see a lot less stores carrying certain brands due to favoritism….and we all know what this sorta thing does to prices. Besides, it’d have the potential to quickly be manipulated in order for a choice few stores to get any and all coming to Canada if all ya gotta say is ‘they’re preorders’. Situation sucks, but the stores do indicate that they have no idea when any will arrive……same for everything else (vehicles at times, ammunition, reloading components, etc, etc, etc).

The way it seems to be is when my FFL places an order weekly for a dozen assorted Rugers the rep. gets more bonus sales when adding a couple of SBL's or Trappers to the order, the dealer sells more by putting the Icing On The Cake
And it is America first just look at the amount of listings on GunBroker and that is only part of the sales, lots of other state dealers have them also along with all the monthly Gun Show Dealers. Nobody saw this coming just like the shortage of powder & primers also with no handgun sales going to Canada the dealers have very limited bargaining power, they take what they can get and hope for the best.

Well said.

Welcome to Trudys post Covid new normal bull-sh1t!.......:(

I don't doubt that it's America first, and I don't necessarily blame them in that.

But Korth has to have some pull here, they're not a mom & pop purchaser being that they supply the whole Canadian market. They must be able to get 500 or 800 rifles in and out through their network to fill orders. If that even represents the total backlog in this country I'd be surprised.

Out of interest, from my research Marlin in its big years was producing 750,000 lever guns per year. As lever gun popularly declined that tapered down to an average of 300-350 per day in their Connecticut plant between 2000-2010. That declined further under Remington, I read Remington was producing a lever rifle every 135 seconds of work time... 8 hrs x 60 min x 60 sec ÷ 135 = 213 rifles per day. So are we now at half that rate under Ruger? Quarter that rate? Maybe 50 rifles per work day? Building for about 1.5 years now? How many of these have been produced and sent into the wild? Minimum 20,000 I'd guess.

Hopefully they can scale to meet demand.

I think you should contact Korth directly, they will be able to explain it to you.

Korth is not the only Ruger/Marlin distributor, there is another one here in Canada. If you research enough here on Gunnutz you will figure it out. I won't mention another business name on Korth's paid thread.

Your math is good, you obviously have a passion for lever guns. Unfortunately you are forgetting a few things.

When Marlin was building JM rifles, they took pride and care while building them, this takes plenty of time to hand fit each intricate piece. In saying this, they still delivered guns with the infamous Marlin jam. You can Google this term if you wish.

Then Remington buys Marlin and manufactures a rifle with crooked sights, Marlin jam issues, poor fit & finish, as well as other issues. Some of the Remington made Marlin rifles were pretty good, others were a nightmare.

Now that Ruger/Marlin has this brand, they wanted to solve all these issues and build a quality firearm. Are they all perfect? No, but from the ones I have handled are very nice. Fit & finish is excellent, accuracy is very good and the finished product with the new upgrades are beautiful. They take the time to create an excellent gun that one would be proud to own. As far as I know, they have eliminated the Marlin jam issue.

The Americans love their lever action guns as much as us Canadians do. There are more people down south and their market gets filled first.

To my knowledge, Korth and the other Canadian Ruger/Marlin distributor have ordered plenty of guns for the Canadian market. They just are not making it here. It's unfortunate, plenty of Canadian hunters and sport shooters would like one, but there is not enough guns here to quench the thirst for the demand.

Like I said earlier in this thread, just buy one off of Gun-post or the EE. Yes you will pay a little more, but you will satisfy your craving.

I get it and I want to see Ruger maintain their quality build.

I'm patient, but we all need to vent at times. I'm just frustrated on the pace and the wait...

Hard to believe the world we're in at this point, can't get a truck, can't get ammo, can't get primers, can't get a rifle. WTF...

We all hear you and feel the same.

Thank a slimy liberal, thank the failed Covid scam, thank Klaus Schaub and his WEF WOKE crap!

The liberals want a reset, we should give them one. lol

They’re coming in more steadily now and in bigger numbers. In the past couple weeks five shops have got 1895’s in. I think things are starting to improve as far as wait times go. Managed to grab a Trapper from an outfit in BC and had one on order somewhere else.

Same, I managed to grab on yesterday for good price from a vendor, bests the $3000 people ask on EE / GP lol!!!!!

Looks like this was a decent size batch that came in recently and got stocked up and sold out really quick from dealers.

I suspect like before it’ll be another long wait before another shipment makes it in country.

Now just waiting on the 1894 and 336 models to show up

Seems like nice units and wouldn’t mind to compare to the older ones eventually. I think there’s still a few around and still trickling into stores $1900-$2000…..there’s a couple fellas hoping to capitalize on fellow members by grabbing first couple that hit shelves and trying to flip for a 50% mark up….little greedy, people are funny lol
