Im new to reloading and not sure where to start with powder (already purchased H4831 regular cut, not SC)

My Recipe thus far:
.300Win.Mag.
NEW Winchester brass
Winchester LRM primers
Hornady 200gr ELDX

Platform is:
26" bbl in a 1:8 twist
Browning xbolt long range HC.

Its my understanding that the Hornady Manual recommended loads are with a 24" test bbl. So not sure how the loadings translate to 26"..

I did try to start in the middle of the chart (approximately 70gr) in an attempt to duplicate advertised velocities of the Hornady Precision Hunter 200gr ELDX factory loads. (They perform well for me) but when they felt to be compressed, I stopped, pulled the bullets and am back to square 1.

Just not quite sure what increment I should be jumping my loads at, or where to start... recommendations?

Thanks in advance to all who have input.

Side note: I have no Crony or access to one.. so this is purely feel, pressure signs and group performance testing..

I start with 2 at 70gr 2 with 1 gr more and so on, some do 1 some do 3 to 5. All depends on how much time or patients you have. Know your low and high presher signs. Watch the target, a big jump in elevation usely means a jump in presher.
