I'd cut the baseboard tight to the supporting leg.
Or better yet miter the baseboard around the supporting leg.....
I see I will have to post pictures of how to properly construct the man cave!

I was cringing at that too. I would cut the BB out where the leg is against the wall. Wrapping the BB around would be a waste of time.

Holy SH*T was my first response on seeing those photos. Now THAT's a gunroom ;-) Great look to it too!

Thanks. I'll post a thread when it is closer to done, instead of running a mock here. Those with an eye for detail will be happy to know I tore out the ugly white trim board and closet door and replaced it all with rough cut lumber. Now it looks better.

Now to fix the log telepost cover, built a stand for my tool box and book case........the thread should be up next year.

My only critique - I'd have notched the bottom of the leg so it was tight to the wall.

Nice setup.

I might have added another vertical leg tacked to the edge of that one and have it come up and overlap the cross member under the table top surface, kinda like how you'd frame a corner of a house wall. Oh forget it, maybe these pics will better describe what my fingers won't type.

Under that old rotten barn wood is the top plate of the leg, like a house wall would have. I am no carpenter so anyone who is correct my design if faulty, it is holding up 600lbs with narry a squeak. I forgot to take into account the floor was 5/8 off level so it had to be shimmed but thats another story.

Just wondering what you guys think is the best height for a reloading bench?

Depends if you like to sit or stand. Standing is a little easier on my back so I went 36-38.
Turned out the old chair I have cranked up high enough to be able to sit at a decent height too.

I'm 6 feet tall with short arms so all my benches are 39-40 inches. I like them that way. I also put rubber ergo mats in front of my benches and would highly recommend you go to Costco and spend $15.00 and get at least one 3x3 piece. I have been known to get carried away and spend hours at that bench and it sure helps.
