New Rem 870 Express Tactical jams!

I just purchased a Remington 870 Express Tactical 12G Shot gun and I am having problems. It's jamming every second or third round. When I say jamming I mean I can't rack the next round. If I load six shells I can rack them all fine without shooting them. But as so as I start firing they jam! I have tried 2 3/4 slugs and bird shot with the same results! WTF is going on? I thought the 870 was famous for being reliable.

Check your chamber. If it's at all rough it needs a good polishing. When u fire the shells they expands bit and with a rough chamber they jam up In there

This is pretty much guaranteed to be your problem. I had the EXACT same thing happen. I took it back to wholesale sports where I bought it. They sent it to remingtons repair centre. 4 months ish later I got my shotgun back and they had polished the chamber up real nice. Never had that problem again.

Rough is an understatement! Does Remington have no quality control?? So I carefully grinded it smooth and the polished it. i will test it tomorrow
 
I put 14 shells through it today with no jams. But I have to admit I am not very happy that I needed to modify a new gun to work. It will be my first and last Remington Shotgun!
 
Yeah, If I feel my express tac needs polishing lll use a very moderate level of abrasivness.
My chamber feels smooth though, almost chrome like to the touch.

Yes it's Winchester ammo. But that should not matter. My Moss 500 eats what ever I put in her. To be a good shotgun it should shoot anything! I think anyway!

Actually, it does matter. Many guns that run perfectly on all other types of ammo have exactly the issue you describe with Winchester.
 
Likely lite trap loads with low zinc/tin/aluminum casing.
Common issue with the new Remingtons.
I save the cheap Winchester loads for my Hatsan and Mossberg, and use canadian made Challenger shells for my 870
 
Yeah unfortunately Remingtons today are more like a pre assembled kit than a finished product, even if they function correctly out of the box {which my 870P didn't}, they're rough compared to the guns of years past that built the brand's reputation.
