You guys check this out yet? It's new from Remington and is styled similar to the AR-15, but it's only chambered for small calipers (223 rem & 204 ruger). So shes not for large game, but maybe in the future Remington will offer it in large game rounds.
Mean looking rig, what?

Write your MP and cc the Ministers of Justice and Public Safety. Tell him you're a big fan of Remingtons, and want this as your new coyote rifle. You wouldn't happen to hunt for a living do you? Just bought it, now denied the ability to work? 20" Remmy with a 5 shot mag is restricted? Makes no sense. No toys for the kids if you can't hunt. Special exemption? Etc?
It's a 20" AR15, it's restricted by name, not by feature. The R-15 will be a popular varmint gun in basically the rest of the world. It, and others like it, should be popular varmint guns in Canada as well.
Time to start the 'derestrict the R-15' campaign? Maybe Remington could help, redeem themselves a bit in Canada

If Remington AND the RFC/CSSA/OFAH/etc got behind a push to derestrict the rifle for hunting in Canada, maybe the CPC could be convinced to make a slight change to the OIC which restricted the 18.5"+ AR15 in the first place, or draft a new OIC as done with the Valmet Hunter. The AR15 has it's place as a hunting rifle, and is the Lee Enfield of today in regards to learning to shoot.
Finally, for the fiscally minded, if the 20" AR15 were deemed non-restricted, prices would plummet.
So, I don't see the R15 only as a Bushmaster with a bad paint job, I see Remington being denied sales of a hunting rifle in Canada, and I see Canadians being denied a Remington for hunting.
If we don't ask, we won't get.
Whaddya think?
