600m, definitely, no questions asked (this is true for any decent centrefire rifle).

Beyond that is possible too, depending on how much effort you are willing to put into it. With carefully chosen bullets, in a suitable barrel, and with well-made ammunition, a .223 can be accurately shot at 1,000 yards.
