New Rifle for Grizzly/moose

The Alaskan on my scale weighs 9lbs with scope installed. I swapped out the Hogue stock for a B&C off of my 7RM, and it dropped the weight to 8lbs, scope installed.

I like it much better, and wil probably order another B&C for the 375...I dont' have the patience to wait 5 months for a Macmillan.

Ruger M77 mkII stainless and then get an smith to install irons back up sights on it... that's my $0.02

x3 for the ruger. You wont go wrong.

They don't make the medalist for the ruger, unfortunately...

If I do get the plain ol' carbelite I will bed it and see what happens. ..I'm a bit apprehensive.

Good idea to go with the laminated stock if you don't want wood - avoid anything synthetic, read plastic, in .30 and up magnums. It's too painful, honest, to the point where you won't want to shoot it ever. A .338 with a 250gr Nosler Partition will handle almost anything on this planet easily. With a different bullet it can even handle Cape Buffalo, rhino and elephant, though it's illegal most places in Africa to use under a .375. All the same, a fine rifle choice in a very potent caliber!
