New rifle from Armtech Canada

It must be 5000+$

I got a single shot TR 308 made by Gaulin SN018
4 lug action with RPA trigger. McMillan prone adj.stock
Krieger 30 inch palma bbl w/match chamber (13 inch twist)
with both front and rear RPA sights it was near 6000$
but it shoots very well.

It does "mickey mouse" 3 shot groups at 100 yds if you know what I mean.

I have 3500 rds thru it already and a spare chambered barrel is ready to go on it as soon as the other one starts showing wear.

I think more people should look into having stuff done here instead of going to the states. Gaulin did several smith jobs for me and I've always been satisfied. Match chamber on my two 308 Rem 700 barrels. Well worth the 200 bucks!

From his website price list :
TACTICAL RIFLE: $4695.00

TACTICAL RIFLE S/A:

Gaulin HR800 action with HS Precision 5 shot detacheable clib assembly.

Mcmillan A5 model stock choice of finish or colors or Accuracy International stock with 5 or 10 shot magazine in black or olive green colors.

Action is pillar bedded in McMillan stock. Action is a drop in in Accuracy Int. stock.

Krieger or Gaillard barrel

Remington trigger set to 3 1/2 lbs with safety.

Calibers: 308, 300 Wsm. 300 remington SAUM.

TACTICAL RIFLE L/A:

Same as TACTICAL RIFLE S/A but with HRUM75 action for long magnum or calibers.

Accuracy International 5 shot clip or Badger Ordnance 5 shot detachable clip assembly

Calibers: 300 Win. Mag or 338 Lapua Mag. Clip will not accept Rem. long ultamags

Francis is very nice to talk to! Even his English is excellent. For those of you in Eastern Canada (or really anywhere) definitely give these guys a call!

Armtech Gaulin rifles

sorry for the late reply.
I got my rifle in 14 months (2 months delay due tio shortage of Kriegers)
Since barrel makers don't ship to Canada any more without a lot of fuss and expenditure it's a bit of a hassle getting them from the other side. The guy at Broughton Barrels told me he has a guy which will do it for 100$ US but you must get the import papers yourself (from cdn gvt.)
Personaly I think it's not worth the trouble. Everyone should have an american friend close to the US border where they can pick their stuff up. Technicaly it might be illegal but you can't be more catholic than the pope. I do declare the tubes when I cross them into canada. Two years ago I got 2 Broughtons 5C 7mm bbls (mag. sporter) to build 7STWs and paid 100 bucks tax and custom duty fees. They were 300$ US each. Good luck to all.

Gaulin TR rifle

While we talk about the Gaulin rifles let me add my 2 cts worth on his TR:

I got the Gaulin 2000 4 lug action TR in 2003 (SN 018)
-4 lug LH action w/RPA gold trigger
-30 inch Krieger palma bbl (13 inch twist) 308 win. match chamber.
-McMillan prone fully adj. stock w/equipment rail
-RPA Trakker sights w/variable obturator peeps (excuse my french)
cost me 5600$ + 250$ for used obturators.

This rifle shoots. I did two possibles in a row at Connaught (Ottawa) in a match. 800m and 900m, 75V4 & 75V1 those were signed by Linda Miller and Keith Cunningham themselves which shot with me. Nothing fantastic you might say but not so bad for a Sharpshooter. This rifle will keep them in the V if you know what to do about the wind.......:D
