New rifle from Maple Ridge Armoury

Wondering if producing it without getting an FRT number would help. Makes it harder for them to arbitrarily change an FRT report that doesn't exist. Only reason the firearms that went prohibited post OIC went prohibited on FRT report was because there was an FRT report that they could fudge with.

They will just buy one (or not) and make an entry.

At least this one is spring assist, the Spectre one isn’t.

Have you found any information that is is spring assisted, that is what I am looking for, I had heard this was coming from them, so I sent them a couple PM a few weeks ago, but no reply back from them

Electric button for cocking. On the foregrip. Manual repeating that I've seen, does not describe, other than action that is not from the trigger pull.

FFS , if you want a bolt gun with a pistol grip and collapsible stock, just by a Cadex Chassis

Not that I'm thinking this is a great idea, but at least it would allow some of us to get shooting again assuming they don't bone us on the price. The OIC completely screwed me, my 6mm is getting up there in round count, about 2 months left in barrel life if I shot it as much as my AR...at the moment I have nothing I can afford to shoot more than a few times a month. Shooting my Rimfire just isn't the same.

Cadex, sure...if I had the Coin for a Cadex Chassis, I'd spend it on my next disposable car.

Oh sweet ! A bolt action AR lookalike how exciting...

Thinking its a cool replacement sounds like the husband of a cheating wife finding out she is cheating on him with his best friend and that husband is happy because "at least its not a stranger and Steve is a nice guy"

I love my AR’s and other semi’s and have no intent on replacing them but there’s room in my safe for lots of other guns too. I mean just cuz I have a wife doesn’t mean I can’t have a couple of girlfriends, right?

A light, short barreled manual action with AR ergos makes for a pretty sweet truck gun.

Another positive to these platforms would be high capacity magazines assuming they manufacture something unique to the platform.

What?
For a reason or another, I thought that since the government made it illegal to bring the AR's to the range... it was now legal to take out the rivets out of the formerly AR magazines... in order to use them at their standard capacity in non-AR rifles.

Anybody know of a good place to buy rivets in bulks? (ref1)

Ref1: To the government official(s) reading this post, in case you missed it, I was being sarcastic. My AR magazines are still neutered, no rivets were armed in the making of this post :yingyang:

I think I misread a question on instagram as being a statement about being spring assist.

Hmm okay when I open the subcomments on instagram someone asked if it was a straight pull spring assist and MRA replied "yes."

From their IG post:

"The MRA V1-B Receiver Set is a novel, spring assisted, straight pull, magazine fed firearm design. It is composed of a proprietary upper and lower receiver and proprietary bolt carrier with integrated, swap-able left or right hand charging handle.
This receiver kit is compatible with a wide variety of commonly available firearm parts and accessories. In this way, the user can build a rifle to meet their specific utility and budget.

This receiver set is designed and intended to not be capable of discharging ammunition in a semi-automatic or full automatic fashion. Manual operation of the bolt is required to cycle the action between each shot.

The design is novel and is not derived from any restricted or prohibited firearm. Due to the action type and novel design, this receiver set meets the legal standard of a non-restricted firearm as per the Canadian Firearms Act and related Regulations.
The minimum overall length when assembled into a working, bolt action firearm must be over 26" to meet the standard of non-restricted.

Included Receiver Kit Components:
MRA V1-B Upper Receiver
MRA V1-B Lower Receiver
MRA V1-B Bolt Carrier
MRA V1-B Ambi Charging Handle
MRA V1-B End Plate
MRA V1-B Barrel Gas Journal Seal

I don't do facebook or Instagram

can someone tell me if this is 223/556 size only or is it a large frame model for 6.5/308 ect?

I'll wait for the pump action .

It already exists. It is called the Troy Pump-Action Rifle. They are NR in Canada. Look into it, I really like my little .300 Blk Bear Rifle for the ATV. It weighs next to nothing and at 29" OAL with the stock pinned open, it fits neatly in front of the handlebars.
