Just looking for a little input. I have the opportunity to purchase a Carl Gustaf HVA in 7mm RM. The gun is in very good shape and has an insanely smooth action. The dilemma is that for the price, I can buy a new Sako A7 (270WSM) on clearance.
The A7 just does not feel as smooth etc as the old Gustaf. Any feedback on pro's & cons of either of these rifles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
 
smooth don't mean much if it don't shoot accurate. i would take a crap action for accrucay but i would like the best of both world accuracy and smooth

personal opinion take the sako but you sound like you know what you want
 
I'd take the Husky over 2 of those sakos, course I'm not a sako fan, but really like the huskies with the modern bolt.
 
The HVA/CG/FFV 1900 would cost about the same as the Zoli 1900 cost today (over 2000.00 $). And it's one of the very best action ever made. It carries one of the easiest to adjust and smooth trigger as a bonus.

At 900.00 $, it sounds a bit high to me, as you can find some in the 700.00 $ / 750.00 $ range these days, but price is also a matter of how bad you want it.

While I like the Sakos, when it comes to material, assembly fit and finish, the A7 is far behind any HVA/CG 1900...

Depends what you want. The A7 will be very light...the HVA will have more character, is the Det mag required or not ?. I would not worry about either of them being inaccurate.
 
+1 on the Husqvarna; they're a much classier rifle than the economy-grade Sako A7. Either one is accurate enough for its intended purpose.
