Have you considered a Savage LRP ?

I had not, Perhaps I should. Just seems like more value in thies two rifles then the LRP

Tenda has the 700 PCR on sale

Yes, It is a good price. Look at how HIGH that optic is going to be... I fear even with the cheek piece raised fully I will not be able to get high enough...

Also I like my bolt guns bare, No need for the rail that only collects moisture and muck in it.

Anyone else here have a seriouse hate for acis magazines? I had a ruger gunsite scout.... what worthless magazine system. I have handled nerf guns that had a more reliable magazine.

Maybe it was an issue with your Ruger? The AICS mag system is the most widespread dbm system for precision rifles by a long shot. In fact there really isn't any other table option...

yeah I just cant stand them! cant top load the steel ones, the magpul brand have weak springs and often the bolt would glide right over top, the factory 10rd steel one was being damaged from recoil and was just huge, infact they are all huge for the capacity, the way they latch was weak at best.... just overall left
me with a bad impression to the point that I will never consider a rifle with that mag system. bought a used sako 85 for less than I paid for ruger... now Im spoiled for life.

I do think the 6.5CM makes sense, I think it would make an awesome hunting round in a lightweight rifle, and it obviously does well in precision rigs too!

I have, and recommend, the Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. Great shooting rifle, accuracy is crazy good. I love mine.

Don't pay any mind to the naysayers of the 6.5 Creedmoor. If it is the flavor of the month, it's been a darn long month and it shows no signs of ending. Many choices of factory loaded ammo can be found everywhere. Same with reloading components. I'm not slamming anyone's choice of cartridge, but there is more to life than the 25-06 and the 308. (Which are both dam fine shooting cartridges by the way.)

What are you calling crazy good accurately? Some people think 1 moa is super accurate. I agree with the 6.5 cm great cartridge. Very well rounded.

I have been a big fan of Savage match rifles for over 40 years.
as far as the cartridge goes, tge Creemoor is a good choice for a cartridge , I shoot one.
however it is not my favourite 6.5 for several reasons but if I wanted a rifle and it was chamber in 6.5CM I would not hesitate

Guys he is asking about two rifles in particular not everybody’s Recommendation .
if I had to choose between the two it would be the Remington because I don’t know enough about the other one yet.
thry haven’t been out that long.

So, yeah Remington,

According to the poll that he created, he is in fact asking for literally everyone's recommendations.

700 5R mil-spec is a great way to go, so is the Bergara and Tikka, and the Savage LRP. What I suggest is go to your local gun store and try a few out and buy one. Sitting and listening to opinions is great but everybody has there personal preference. I've been a Remington 700 guy for a long time. However, my Howa 1500/Weatherby Vanguard I picked up not that long ago has blown me away in how well rounded it is. When I build a custom rifle (hopefully next year) It's going to be a Big Horn TL3 because it ticks all of my boxes that I want, controlled round feed, mechanical ejector, integral recoil lug, floating bolt head, external bolt stop, selectable bolt handles, stainless (with the option of nitride coating) and set up for Savage pre-chambered barrels! Does it make it the absolute action out there? No, does it make it best for me because I like their design? Yes! The big factor will be when I try one out at SHOT show. The point is, get out there, play with a few and buy one! If you don't like it, as long as your aren't throwing it off cliffs you can always sell it!

I would personally get a savage 10fcp-sr with the McMillan A5 from factory. It has a 24" heavy barrel and is a beautiful rifle IMO.

They usually sell for 15-1800 but I've seen em recently on sale for 1100

I feel like you all missed the biggest question and just jumped in with your favorite brand. What will OP be using the rifle for?
Are you planning on laying prone and plinking? Do you want to compete? Do you want to shoot as far as you can?
Once you define how you'll use the rifle, then you can work backwards and figure out what you need.

he said hunting and target which to me is not match shooting
i can only go by the two rifles he pictured and Savage builds rifles that fit right in there

I consistently shoot around 1 moa & sometimes sub-moa. Which for me is great shooting. The rifle is more accurate than I am, that's for sure. In the hands of a better shooter it would perform better.

I should point out that my eyes aren't great and I'm a little shaky. So please don't think that my results are typical for this rifle.

Might depend on what you plan on doing with it. But out of the two I would pick the Bergara. That being said tho right now you can pick up a new Tikka CTR 6.5 creed 24’’ set trigger muzzle brake etc. $1350.
