The price is the same for the rifles.

The rifle will be used for hunting as well as target.

I like the Remington has the longer barrel
I like the bergara has DT mags and adjustable stock
I like the Remington has the 5 R Rifling.
I like the Remington is stainless and then cera coated giving it a long lasting finish.

The stocks are similar I do believe. I would have to add a riser to the rems, the berg will be ready to shoot.

I am leaning for the rem but I am torn.
 
Ruger No.1 in 25-06. 6.5 Creedmore is just the flavour of the month, cartridge-wise. 25-06 is widely available commercially, if you reload the sky's the limit for tuning and you can have an endless supply of brass from 30-06......the most common cartridge in history.

Both of these gents make good points but make it 270 Win for availability of loaded ammo, brass, and projectiles in the same weight range. 6.5CM really is just re-inventing the wheel, but if you're focusing on hand loading, fill your boots.
 
Yea, im pretty stuck on the 6.5 CM. I have owned a few rifles in it and think it is fantastic. I have tons of brass. Once I finish moving im looking to get my reloading set up going. Currently not reloading.

Or a Tikka
I have the Sako. It will shoot into the high .1 at 100yrd and my best grouping at 300 yards was right around .600.
Shooting reloads and all I did to the rifle was bed it and light the trigger with the factory adjustment.

The bergera is a much better designed gun. The bolt is much smoother and accuracy out of the box will kick the rems ass. Othe nice thing is it will take rem foot print triggers and is a rem bolt pattern for stocks. This should be a no brainer to go with the bergera.

Interesting. I have held the berg in person. The stock was hard on the face, not super comfortable but did have a good trigger and smooth bolt.

I figured it would be a close race but the remington has SO many extras in it, top notch stock, stainless, good action, 5R rifling, TONS of aftermarket support (but the berg is rem foot print so that is a mute point I guess).
 
I would say 5R mil-spec.

My dad has the same rifle. Shoots quite well but his is finicky. Doesn't like H4350. Prefers R19 powder. But it still shoots pretty good. I have a take off barrel from a 308 5R that I put on an old 700 VS I had and it shoots amazing. Everything I load for it shoots sub-moa it seems. The 5R Remington's seem really good.
