I had to have the action barrel and action trued and the stock bedded before the Rem 700 would shoot and function properly. Be for doing this only one locking lug was engaging the reciever and the and the firing pin was hitting off center. Also the POI seemed to shift around once in awhile. Now that the action has been reworked/trued, barrel set back, stock bedded, etc... it works great and doesn't give me any problems. Also it came with the J-lock system that sucked, that is gone now to. The Rem 700 is a good rifle to build a target/sniper rig on due to the wide range of parts available for it but for a hunting rifle I'll stick to the M77, never had to have one worked on yet.
