New rifle WITH sights???

A few come to mind:

-Norinco M14 or Springfield M1A
-Ruger M77 International with Mannlicher stock
-Browning BLR
-Some Ruger No. 1s
-CZ 550 Lux and FS models
-Tikka Battue

Sako also offers their Bavarian model 85 with irons and the blued Hunter model is available with them as an option.

It also looks like they are going back to more traditional checkering patterns on some models, which I think is an improvement over the Eurotrash-style checkering on other 85s:

What new rifles COMES WITH sights anymore? Excluding the 416's 375's and other BIG size calibers.

Anything that anyone knows of in like .308, or 30-06 range?

Been my rant for some time now, you are not alone.

Not to mention aperture sights. :)

Sorry, i should refine myself.

What bolt actions comes with sights? I always liked hunting with a gun that has sights from the factory. I like the rem 700. And have a BLR on .223.
They use to all come with sights.

I dont understand why they mostly come without sights anymore.

Has anyone had sights put on there new rifles? How much is going rate for installation in your area?

Mossberg 4x4 can be had with irons in 30-06, 300 win and 338 win.

Because everyone buying new rifles scope them, it's basically a way for manufacturers to cheap out and make slightly more profit by forgoing the installation of irons.

It costs less to have a clean barrel, besides a gunshop that sells a rifle with sights may not sell a scope for that rifle due to the irons. Most people use a scope and irons seem to be too old school for the masses. I still use irons on all my rifles, I think they make a rifle look better. In the event of your scope fogging, you can use the irons. Could you imagine a dangerous game rifle without a dependable set of iron sights??

Bingo! Then one has to shell out almost as much as the price of the rifle again in the cost of a scope, and a set of rings. :(

Bolt actions are for precision shooting. Other than seeing that there is a target 100y away, I couldn't tell you much about it. Through a scope, I see well enough to put all my rounds under an inch. I'll admit that hunting doesn't require the same amount of precision, but if I was selling rifles, I'd want people to scope them and talk about <1" groups, not the 2-3" groups most would be likely to get through irons. Also, considering the cost, when spread over several thousand rifles, if only 100 guys are gonna use the irons anyway, which they can get installed if they really want them. All this and I still have reasonably young eyes, I've heard a lot of the greybeards talk about the fuzz that seems to grow around the iron sights as the rifles age ;)
