New rifle WITH sights???

I've heard a lot of the greybeards talk about the fuzz that seems to grow around the iron sights as the rifles age ;)

I hear in Europe the red dot sight (non magnified) is gaining popularity. :D

So that might be another alternative if one is stuck with a rifle with only a scope rail.

Something like a 1-4x variable looks like a good setup to me for close range work with optics-only rifles. 1x is almost as good as a red dot, but with the added capability to crank up the magnification should a long range shot present itself.

Why does Savage call that rifle the "Euro Classic", when it is not offered in European cartridges?

Because they needed another name for another shape of stock that they produced.

They should have called it the "Canuck Classic", because, the .270, 30-06, .22-250, .243, .308 are the only chambering's that a "Real Canadian" would ever need:slap: !!!!!!!

You forgot the .303... oh wait no one is using that cartridge in modern arms anymore. :D

Many bolt guns don't come with sights anymore... everyone seems to love glass better. While I love scopes, I certainly can appreciate fine marksmanship with guys using iron sights.

The Ruger #1 or Winchester High Wall action strike me as logical choices for a modern .303 rifle, seeing as rimmed cartridges are best in single shot and double rifles. I can't see there being much demand, though.

Any of the Savages in the 10/110 series (except the weather warrior series) as long as there is no 'N' in the suffix after the number. I just recently bought a 111F in 25-06 and it has sights.... cheap sights but it does have sights.
