Well last year I purchased my first rifle, it was an SKS. All my buddys were telling me its not a hunting rifle. So out I went, didn't even see a whitetail. I mean as soon as hunting season started in Manitoba ( I'm in the SE ) I didn't even see one deer. Not on the highway, not in the bush not anywhere. So I didn't get a shot off. This year after much shooting, don't get me wrong the rifle is fun as hell, however I understand it has limits. Went out and purchased a Ruger American 30-06 with a Vortex Crossfire scope. Sighted in on Sat with Federal power shok and remington core lokt 150 gr. Took a bit to sight in but now shooting 1 1/8 groups at 150 yards. The rifle seemed to like the core lokts the best. I feel alot more confident about a long range shot now. C'mon brown. I'm hoping someday the Moose population will bounce back, I would love to try that hunt.
