New Rim Fire GSG-15 or GSG-16

I own a GSG-16 and my shooting buddy owns a GSG-15. I bought the -16 so I could convert it into a MP5-alike, and now it is.
As far as stock firearms go, both are the same plastic/zamac alloy construction, reasonably accurate, reliable plinking machines.
Cannot go wrong with either of them.

I have the 16 and its a fun plinker. As for the drum it totally useless in my opinion. I used it once and then sold it and bought 2 extra mags instead. If you buy the 16 there is a great thread on here to assist you. I have no major issues or concerns with it. You will be very happy with it.

I replaced the 2 take down screws with MP5 style push pin. It makes it easy when you have to take it apart and clean it.

Love the 16. It cycles subsonics/cci quiets reliably, and so far has been really great with everything ive fed it.

Kids love to shoot it, and I catch myself taking it to the back bush with a mag full of stingers as my pesky varmint gun, more than any other rifle lately.

I love the GSG rifle line.. I've owned the original MK22, GSG-15 Special Edition, and the GSG-16.

The GSG-16 with a fixed stock feels much better than the default extending one.

The GSG-15 is a bit more rugged with the aluminum upper.

Both are better with the 9" barrels

I've got the 16 in MP5 clothes. It's good for plinking, but not much more accurate after that. +1 no drum; they're junk. Otherwise cycles great with CCI's.

I have a 15. It works great until you let it get really dirty. I've only run one full drum through it and it wasn't great, had a few FTF/FTE. I'll wait until I try a few more types of ammo before I say yay or nay on the drum. The factory 22 round mags that I can actually fit 24 rounds in have worked great. I wouldn't hesitate taking head shots on grouse accuracy wise. Even at 50m it's more than accurate enough to have fun.
