NEW Robinson arms AR stock adapter

I'll never understand why people want to slap AR stocks on everything.

In my experience the AR style stock is much more comfortable to use with the XCR as the factory stock is quite narrow. Having an adjustable length of pull is nice also. I use a Magpul CTR on mine and really like it.

Yep, as far as rifle stocks go, the AR15 is very ergonomic and comfortable. Plus it has an adjustable length of pull which is great in our cold Canadian weather, or going to the range on a hot day in a Tshirt.

I have a CTR on my USC/UMP and its FAR more comfortable than the skinny UMP stock or the USC stock is.

ETA

not to mention the availability and cost of AR15 stocks.

It's the fact that Robinson Armament, for whatever reason, lowered the buttstock to the point where I cannot use the folding irons that come with the gun from a solid cheek-bone weld that I normally shoot with all my other guns. I had to shoot with an inconsistent mid-cheek weld until I mounted lower sights.

looks like thats 6, we only need 4 more to go...

**another reminder... this is for the NONFOLDING RA style m4 adapter**

I have the exact same problem and its driving me nuts right now. I have something it the works to fix it though...

why is the LOP longer on a folder? it's still a collapsible stock right?

The part that goes between the buffer tube and the receiver plate that allows the stock to fold, adds extra length. Not a problem if you use your stock on a mid setting, but it will normally add about an inch or inch and a half to a buffer tube.

The only way I've thought of how to fix it, is to cut down the threaded section off a buffer tube, epoxy an aluminum insert into the buffer tube hole, then use that to screw the folding section on, which would only add about 1/4 inch of length.

this is the best pic of what I mean: (thanks to Fabsports for the pic)

With the AR15 buffer tube going into a fixed hole, that threaded section and the folder isn't needed, so it extends the minimum LOP by about 1-1.5 inches or so...

I would love to change my rifle without having to add a cheekweld pad.

from this to this would be awesome.

still cant see why they made that dip in the first place, it doesnt seem like it needs to dip down.

edit: by the way, I'm in if your looking to make it fix this problem.

I will run one. If the stock is not to high for guys using a red dot or irons i will start running them this way and send you a freebie for the art work.

Why don't they allow someone to build them under license up here?

Export of arms technology is also controlled by the US state department; even American designers have to have permission to work outside the country.

That's why the Canadian Gov't needs US State Department approval to sell a 1919 or M2 Browning manufactured in Canada during WW2 or Korea.

Probably the real reason the G36 is popular internationally...:jerkit:
