New Ruger 10/22 50th anniversary.

hmmm, do i really need another 10/22?

no.
but will i buy one of these?
yes, hehe!

i love my ruger 10/22's and i really like my new ruger american rimfire so marrying both of these together can be nothing but good!

interesting top rail they have on their too.
would like to have a better look at that rail to see what exactly is all there.

I want one, I like it better than the older ones. I have had about 25 or 30 go through my hands in the past 35 to 40 years and I am not a dealer.
Who is going to carry them in Canada?

yup, i can confirm they are in country, i just picked one up.
strange, they seem to be around but people havnt put them up on their websites?
first place a called had a batch in stock but not up on the website.

Pics? Initial review? Does it have the flashhider/threaded barrel, or did that get deleted for Canada?

its being shipped, will be a week before i get it.

from what i understand BAFTA (or whatever its called) has stopped restricting the export of gun with flash hiders at least for a while so gun like this one and the ruger scout and the ruger mini 14/30's are coming into canada with the flash hiders on!

Okay. Well, I'm sure you're way ahead of me, but keep us posted. I'd love to see a review. I'm really curious about the usefulness/precision of the sights.

Price, if you don't mind me asking?

I went to the store in Hamilton today Al Simmons, who told me twice on the phone that they had the 50th Ann edition in store. But, it seems they did not in fact have the right one. All 10/22's this year have they 50th anniversary stamping on the receiver. I showed the correct model to the staff, they had never seen it, and did not think they would get any. But, while I was there, they did show me some nice Savages, now I think I might go that route. My apologies to anyone was that was waiting for the location.

jesus Sunman you just saved me $320!

i called the gun store i placed my order with and had them double check that the gun i ordered was the #11173 and not just a plain 10/22 with the bolt stamp and low and behold it was just a plain one with the stamp.

so good news i was able to cancel the order, bad news i now dont have a gun coming.
crud.

HAHA! We all nearly fell for the same thing. I went to a local store after a phone call, to which they claimed to have the "50th anniversary" model. So I go and look, and nope; just a synthetic carbine.

I should have known better, any new models from Ruger take nearly a year to get into Canada.
