NEW Ruger 22!

Who's gonna be the first to import this nice little rifle ? and how much ?

Is it going to be like any other 10/22 or completely different because it's look like an AR ?

I don't think they could prohibit this. We already have unrestricted nordics in Canada. If they try to restrict them, I'm going to take them to court.

all i know is that cabelas has the new rem 597vtr in stock And there selling that in canada so this one should be the same thing. if they can sell the 597vtr they should get this in canada

All I need to do now if pick out witch one to buy.

Your ignorance of the law is glaring.

*giggle*... You're kidding right?

1) I have a right in the firearms act for a judicial review of any classification.

2) The government has a duty of fairness in the administration of any law, that is subject to judicial review at common law, and under the Statutory Powers and Procedures act, and the Federal Judicial Review Act.

3) oh, and I'm a law student, so... maybe you want to take that back?

Paul,

My comment wasn't relating to your ability to challenge any ruling in a court of law. It was based on the previous comment that you didn't think they would prohibit the rifle.

Short of an Act of Parliament or Order in Council, there can be no classification change of any firearm. The simple addition of legally owned aftermarket accessories is not going to alter or change the classification status of any firearm, providing that those changes do not alter the firearm in such a way as to meet the legal definition of either a "restricted" or "prohibited" firearm.

As for being a student of law, frankly I don't give a ####. Your "interpretation" of the law is no more meaningful or useful than anyone else's opinion on this site.

If you want to impress the #### out of me, become a Supreme Court Judge or start your own tv show to replace "Judge Judy".

I agree, which is why I said if they tried, I'd sue them.

I would spend that much on a 22. I have sunk over 1200 into mine already and i havent even bought the 10/22 its self. (wating on rpal still)

why would you need an RPAL to buy a 10/22?

and as for everyone else who is wondering if the new 10/22 or 597 models would be restricted give your heads a shake...they are an existing model with spoilers and spinners....

I just bought a 10/22 compact for $400 after shipping
Did anyone else catch this?! Four hundred bucks for a 10/22?!? I got my 10/22 Compact two years ago for $250 shipped brand new in box, and I paid too much for it.

Maybe he didn't buy it new and it had allot of work done or it came with allot of mags?

Ellwood Eps sells their 10/22 Carbines for $250 plus taxes and shipping so you'd be looking at about $300-$320 there, more if you wanted mags.

The local gunstore here sells 10/22 for $320 plus taxes, right there reaches $360 plus more if you wanted mags.
