My SS Ruger Bisley in 45 Colt arrived and it looks and feels awesome. In real life, it is actually really beefy. especially the cylinder. It makes my GP100 seem small! The bisley grip gives you enough real estate for a good grip too. Thanks to Prophet River for the help on this one!

Looks good! I've got the convertible Bisley 45 colt/acp coming. Prophet river is doing the import for me too. Guess I should check in with Clay and see how its coming along...

If you intend to load it heavy, your BH rear sight might fail, mine did, the rear sight blade with the sighting notch in it actually broke off under recoil. The best solution I found was to replace it with a Rough Country rear sight from Bowen Classic Arms. This sight is extremely rugged and uses opposing screws for the windage adjustment, you simply back the screw out on the side you need to move the sight to, then advance the other. The adjustments can be surprisingly precise. The sight can be made even stronger by setting the elevation to the bottom of it's adjustment and glass bedding the sight to the gun. You would then need to adjust (shorten) the height of the front sight to regulate it to your load. It's a simple installation for the gun owner to perform and requires no fitting. Shipping to Canada posed no problem at that time I bought mine, but an email to Bowen would confirm this is still the case. If I bought another heavy caliber Blackhawk, I would switch to the Rough Country rear sight as a matter of course.

I also changed out the rear sight on my 4-5/8" SBH to this Millett type, which is all steel & more durable, & easier to see.

Thanks for showing your sweet new bisley, I have a few other bisley models, but now I need one like yours, great calibre too...

That Millet looks nice Ruffbird, some don't like the white silhouette on a rear sight but they work for me.
Do you know the product number by chance?

The hardest part was finding a dealer that would sell to me. I had my eye on the convertible model too. Alas, the dealer I found with one didn't want to sell it to me.

I am very happy with the looks and feel of this gun. I don't even have dies yet. I have some 44mag dies I may try to sell first.

Holding my Bisley I think about shootin' a muley... :)

If only our country was a bit more free. (Also I think I would have to be a much better hunter).

Yes I had the same problem with the dealer not wanting to sell to me either on Gunbroker. After explaining to him that it was a domestic sale as far as he was concerned it was no problem.

I just checked and it appears that Brownells sells the Rough Country sight . . .

I'd be willing to trade or sell you my set of Lee 45 Colt dies. I'm currently looking for a set of 30-30 dies, if you had some. Otherwise we can talk price in a PM.

I was thinking 44 too. But then everything I read said you could do more with 45 in this gun with less recoil. So I chose 45. Besides 45 is my lucky calibre.
