New Ruger Precision Rimfire owner.....Going to hit the range tomorrow. What 5 brands

I was playing with my RPR at the indoor range a few days ago and tried out a few types of standard velocity ammo. These are all ten shot groups. Shot fast, few seconds between shots off a bipod on a sheet of plywood laid over the pistol benches. Not exactly a great bench for rifle shooting but it won't stop raining here so indoors has been the only real shooting option lately. Takeaway? Don't buy purple box S&B lol. I actually slowed down after 3 shots with the S&B to try to hold tighter and it didn't make a difference

I’ve done a lot of ammo testing on a #### ton of 22s.

For most everything I settled on
CCI SV for plinking
CCI mini-Mag for hunting

I also have cheap bulk buckets for just making noise and messing around.

I do wish Hornady would make some 22lr. Maybe one day.

My best go to I stock up on when I can is CCI standard velocity and SK Plus and SK magazine, usually takes about 20-30 rounds to get to best consistent groups.

Another inexpensive round is the Federal Champion 40g-SV, I have NOT tried the 'newer' 36g HV-HP Fed-Champion, but I believe it's the same as the previously distributed Fed BlackPak 36gHV-HP from a few years ago. That shot very well, even in my Marlin-60 semi. And S&B in the Whte-yellow-blue boxes was pretty good, too.

They already do:

BTW Caperaway - Are those groups at 50yds? Really good groups there. My B22 can 'often-not always' do that with the 'better' ammo like SK+, CCI-SV and FedChampion 40g. I've got a 6-18x50 scope with an MOA tree. What do you have on your RPR?
