Good Day all, I have just aquired my new stock Ruger SR. Shopped all over online for sr10/22 online sold out everywhere. Just so happened to walk in two local Gun stores. One had the ISSC MK22 in Tan (almost purchased). Went to the other local store, and there she was. Asked if they had more in the back, he said had a couple. Sold, in my gun cabinet by 9pm. Now the fun begins, I am looking to do some slight mods, since it comes bones stock. Would like to extend top rail and add bottom rail. Looked at Ruger site, but they don't export to Ontario. Can you give me some insight of which site I can find the mods I need. I have found afew sites, but would like some insight of what you have done to your SRs. Thanks for your time.

Do you mind if I ask where you got the SR 22 rifle? I am looking for one as well... And GTA is not that far from my neck of the woods.

First off!!! Watch a youtube video on installing the extractor! Seems a few including mine have had there extractor fly out on the first range day!! Make sure its properly installed!

My suggestions

D-Lask Arms for the Rails
Magpul AFG or some sort of fore grip
get a higher capacity magazine

Hopefully you got one with a threaded barrel (mine was used and unfortunately it didn't)

here's mine right now (Surprise scope coming in a few weeks)

Magpul AFG
Magpul CTR Stock
DLask Rails
Ebay Dueck Defense RTS -Rapid Transition Sight knock offs
Archangel 25 Round Magazine (Not shown)
Atlas Bi-Pod with Quick Detach (this goes on whatever rifle i'm shooting)

also did the free float barrel and bolt release mod

Yea iron eagle tactical is great. Check out their brush guards for an end cap to the hand guard.

Here is how mine is looking these days:
- dlask 12.5" barrel, sport chamber, .920 stepped to .850 and a2 flash hider
- dlask short quad hand guard
- iron eagle combat brush guard (needed gunsmith to drill holes to work with the dlask hand guard)
- magpul afg, ctr stock, and moe grip in od green
- sightmark ultrashot pro nv red dot
- magpul flip up iron sights
- automatic bolt release mod (do this mod, it's super easy and makes it function a lot nicer)
- tuffer buffer (takes the twang sound out of the bolt hitting the receiver)
- pws t3 mag release (also highly recommended)
- magazines I run are battledyne (some issues waiting for replacements), promag 9-22 (waiting to get these), and stock ruger 10 rounds which work great.

That's definitely a slick setup! The battledyne mags look great and hopefully the replacements work out well.

the problem with setup like these.. it get out of hand really quickly when you start modding and endup in the 4 digits total.

kinda like what happen to me too.. just need to change 2 more parts :) it never ends

Just a question, if your gonna go Nutz with all these mods, why start with a sr-22? Why not just start with a regular 10-22, save 400$ish and go from their?

Bowzy that thing looks outstanding.

Edit: myself I'd go the Troy T-22 route. Looks awsome

because you gonna have a heck of a time finding n buying every little parts ..
also.. buying a nordic chassis in canada is not simple.. and cant order from brownells either without a ton of paperwork
also.. i imagined something in my mind and wanted it exactly that way no matter how hard or how pricy and this is exactly what i did.. lightweight n 26 1/8 inches long
also.. the SR22 is available all the time around montreal, specialy at Danté so i could start the project faster and cheaper ..

bought a 10/22 at first and changed my mind and resold it when i saw it cost more to find all the pieces than buying an SR with the hard to find chassis

I actually did start with a 10/22, bought the sr-22 chasis off a CGN member. Probably would of been cheaper to go the SR-22 route from the start though!
