and yes - its commander length!
ive not had the urge to get a 1911 in 9mm...... until now!
just saw this pop up on the Ruger web page, im assuming it will be a year until we see them up here.
gives me time to start saving up my pennies i guess.
would like nice with my SR1911 and my SR1911 CMD i think.

Oh my gawd! :runaway: Oh my gawd!! Tell me it comes in all stainless...running to their web sight, if this thing feeds I thing my Glock is going to get some safe time! $1300= I don't care, sold no problem!

*edit* Damn it! its a CC pistol for light weight carry option...Aluminium frame:( If Ruger made this Commander in their Talo version or with a stainless frame I would buy no questions asked. Shame.

With an MSRP of 1k US, it's way out of touch and there are much better options on the Canadian market. I'm very glad to see an offering in 9mm from Ruger, but I wont be buying.

Maybe it's the black colour or just my eyes but does the grip on that pistol look shorter than a standard 1911 or commander frame grip?

And yes, when the SR1911s were $750 they were a great deal. Now that they're well north of $1200 they're nothing special.

Well I like the look of this one anyway. I've been on the lookout for an affordable 9mm Commander since I sold my SAM. What other reasonably priced 9mm Commanders are out there?

Still waiting for a railed sr1911 full sized. I heard Talos had a run, but haven't been able to find one. My current SR1911 is a great gun.

$979 for the 4.25" version in the U.S. So yeah, it's gonna be pricey when it gets here. And with some of Ruger's QC issues of past, I'd be sure to buy it in person.
