Rock Island Arms have come out with a Rugger 10 -22 Clone. I just bought it brand new in the box for......$249. Comes with butler Creek 10rd mag and scope rail. Fist impressions....The stock is beefy and a nicer feel than the rugger. The wood is very nice. Steel butt plate. Stock fits better to shoulder than rugger. The Action seems Stronger and Smoother than rugger. The fit and finish is great. Nothing is loose, nothing wiggles. I am very impressed so far. I was looking for a rugger on the EE echange, but a well used one was still $300 bucks and some as high as $450..Ouch ! This gun feels closer to an M1 carbine. Its not wimpy. The 10-22 stuff is all interchangable with this one. Fiber Optic sight on front with removable screw. Now,..if it shoots as good as it looks LOL. will take it to the range this evening and give range report. Will shoot ALL kinds of 22 ammo through it, and lots of it, gonna give it a good test. I have owned 4 or 5 ruggers before, so I'm setting the bar by rugger standards. Will it be the same...better..or just a pile of crap..we will see. I got it from Frontier Fire arms in town here, I'm the first to buy one, and he gave me 100% warranty. We all want a Review.
P.S the trigger gaurd is metal as well as the front site. The rifle is called "RIA 22 Carbine."
Barrel leangth 18 1/2 inches. over all 37 1/2 inches. trigger pull 4lbs. weight 7lbs
